Remember when I suggested...

Recommended Posts

Remember when I got blasted by most of you for even suggesting we look into trading for Cousins. Its funny that all the people who don't want the "headcase" for the Bobcats keep saying that the panthers should take more chances on trouble makers with talent. Anyways, here is the numbers he has put up over the last 10 games.

Points Rebounds Assists Blocks Steals

21 19 0 3 1

28 20 1 2 1

8 6 2 0 0

21 14 1 1 2

14 9 3 1 2

17 15 0 1 1

18 13 2 1 0

19 11 1 1 0

17 13 2 0 4

13 19 2 1 0

Yeah, you guys that said it would be stupid to try were right. We don't really need a big man presence anyways. We have Bismack! (cue the neg rep because they will still insist it would have been a bad idea to go after a future superstar when he was on the trade block)

I'd love to have Cousins but the only problem is they were never going to trade him, they said as much and basically proved it by choosing him over the coach.

I have not really watched his games to say that he is a stud.... putting up numbers over 10 games says nothing to me. In the NBA on some teams you have great players who have a good cast so that don't put up numbers, and you have players on bad teams who put up numbers because they are surronded by lack luster talent and well someone has to get the numbers.

I will really have to sit down and watch him play vs respectable talent and players before I crown him anything. I just don't think using numbers only in a 10 game stretch justifies anything.

But there are always going to be players that we speculate about... you will be right sometime and wrong others.... Hell professionals who gets paid to do it and look at these kids for hours upon hours are still speculating at the end of the day.

Just my .02 cents I wouldn't toot your horn about 1 top player prospect u speculated about that we were not going to get anyway.

I am not. But again, I was dogged for suggesting it. Thats my point. I made a SPECULATION and people nailed me to a cross for it. And he is playing pretty damn well. So why does the huddle always have to nail new posters whenever they make suggestions? Its annoying and it comes off as though they are trying to pick fun at the "rookie." Same thing happened when I said Matt Moore was not our permanent answer. Four games into the next season people were tired of him after calling me a moron for SUGGESTING we should continue to look for a QB. Thats what gets under my skin... thats my .02 cents.

Some people do that around here, but not just to you or other new people, but to everyone... Yes, you did have a valid point for wanting us to acquire him as he was a yound project with upside and potential. But I could also understand those not wanting him due to character concerns, both were valid and could be debated.

But don't take it as a new thing... just how some posters are.

    • Well hold on let's pause for a second and establish some things first since we're on the subject of "cop outs with no room for nuance". Our own QB has 37 games under his belt. Many of them are either subpar or just plain bad. We only just this past Sunday won our 2nd road game in his career. But months and months of contentious discussion since his rookie season has largely resulted in the oft used argument that Bryce Young's struggles were due to the coaching and players around him and ultimately he couldn't be blamed But now apparently it seems like you folks have fully tossed that out and are actively blaming Stroud while wholly omitting contributing circumstances around him. So which is one it????? As far as Brees. Look I've got to be direct here. I cannot stand that guy. But I would have to concede that he had a significantly better arm than Bryce Young. I mean it's not even close. Plus as much as it annoys me to say it's clear Drew Brees wasn't afraid to hit the weight room either. And Baker has obviously always had arm talent that showed on the tape even when he was struggling or being a tool. Acknowledging all of this is the first step in gaining a firm footing in reality with the rest of us.
    • I know one thing. I would have Horn active this week. If he gets behind the defense Andy will get that ball down there.
    • I think if we were 2-5 right now and finished 6-11 then that would be more understandable. But at this point.. 4-3 entering week 8. They have to at least finish 7-10 or it’s going to look like they fell apart. Finishing 7-10 still means we go 3-7 down the stretch.
