Only idiots act like Jon Beason is the same as he's always been.

Why are people so convinced that an Achilles injury is the end of a player's career?

DeMeco Ryans (similar type player to Beason) had a similar injury in 2010, came back through it in 2011 (without being able to meet with his team's doctors) and had a fantastic 2011 season.

Ryan Howard tore his Achilles in October for the Phillies. Guess what? He's already ready to start playing, five months later.

There's others, but those are the two most recent cases that I can think of.

Demeco Ryans 2009 (pre injury) 123 total tackles, 93 solo

Demeco Ryans 2011 (post injury) 64 total tackles, 44 solo......

I don't think that QUALIFIES as "fantastic season"

As for Howard just got an infection taken care of and timetable for return UNKNOWN. Comparing a baseball players and a NFL starting MLB is a horrible comparison too.

Beason I hope is the same but odds are he's not. We need to address our LB core, MLB included. Beason will atleast help mentally for the D, but as for physically well thats a big ?

lmao "ready to start playing" and actually playing at a level he was at previously before the injury is completely different. Achilles tears are pretty serious.

36% of achilles injuries do not return to play.More than likely he will lose some flexibility in the injured foot but who knows what that will equate to.The most worisome stat is players that return lose on average 4 games per season from reocurring inflamation.I dont think that his injury will end his career but justifies concern.
