Where does Cam rank amoung NFL QB's

Every one on that list with the exception of Rodgers (A ridiculously low 6) threw double digit INTs.

I would say, for a rookie, Cameron is in pretty good company. As he grows and learns, the INTs should diminish.

I know some people will never like Cameron. I get that. I just wish the haters would use some common sense when trolling. I know, wishing into the winds of distain is a total fail. And there is a part of me that really could care less how people feel about Cameron. He is our very own Superman. And man do I like that thought.

Giddy up, or get out. And GOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there's a pretty big difference between throwing 10 interceptions and throwing 17, saying "they all had double digit interceptions" isn't really all that useful. Plus, raw numbers for INTs are silly, it's better to look at something like interception percent or what not. IMO Cam's number of INTs wasn't that huge a deal given the fact he was a rookie, but I do think he is a bit too high on that list... he'll be there before long but I would place him near or just out of the top 10.

Though I can understand the argument that from this year alone given what he did and how he transformed the team etc, perhaps he does deserve that high a placement on QB performances of the year or somesuch.

Brees is a proven starter who was having a down year turnover wise, like Philip Rivers this year.

Newton was a rookie.

Dude, I am not even sure what this is supposed to mean. Brees has thrown 82 INTs in the last 5 years. I'll do the math for you. That is an average of 16.4 INTs a year. That makes a down half decade, not just one year.

I think you need to go back to the drawing board to find something else to dis on Cameron about. You don't like Cameron in the top ten. I get that. Seeing as how your QB was int he bottom 10, you need to vent your frustration somehow.

Poor jags fans. We probably have more people on this here Huddle than they do in their whole fan base.

Brees has also thrown like 3200 passes in the last 5 years... That's an absurd number of passes, so he'd probably have the most interceptions in the last 5 years. He had like 150 more passes (in 2010) than Cam had last year, so it's no surprise he threw more interceptions.

Even in Brees' worst year, last year, his INT-per-pass ratio was close to Cam's this year, so meh, but his career numbers are a far cry lower. Cam will get better, but it's okay to admit he did have a slight turnover problem as a rookie in some of our games. I don't know if Cam deserves to be #6 in a list of top 10 NFL QBs, but I could buy that he had the 6th best performance last year overall.

fyi that same list had Brees at 7th last year apparently, probably based on interceptions.

it also had freeman at 8...

IMO #6 is way too high for Cam, but he will get there soon I think.

If we are talking about this year alone, which is my understanding, I do not see why #6 is such a stretch.

Ok, let's look at the list.

Rodgers-6 INTS

Brees-14

Eli-14

Brady-12

Ben-14

Cameron-17

Stafford-16

Romo-10

Ryan-12

Flacco-12

Take out Rodgers and Romo, and Cameron is right there. Throw in the fact that he is the only rookie on that list, and I see no reason to get all nutty about him being 6th.

Die hard fans are not swayed by popular opinion. We are swayed by personal perception. And on this front. I am fully behind where Cameron is placed on that list. If you want to be technical. Stafford had one beast of a year, and I believe he deserves to be higher.

My giddy will not be denied. And GOOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 you can't even use the excuse Cam is a running QB...pretty damn good for a rookie. Joe Montana threw 28 INTs the year he won his first Superbowl, Even threw 31 in one year.

#6 might be a little high right now. but who cares that the local media is kissing ass. You do want him to do local interviews, right?

This article is from a Tampa Bay journalist I think. I don't really care if he's too high or not. I personally thin it might be, but eh, I'm glad he's making lists like that. It's a nice change to have a QB where people actually debate that...

Name 5 qb's you'd rather have than Cam if you're a GM

For a single year or for multiple years? ;)

I hear your pain Mav, I really do. That goofball jags fan brought up INTs and I ran with it. Cameron had 9 INTs in 3 games. And two of those games were in the first 5 games. His last 11 games, espescially the last half of the year, he really took care of the ball well.

Everyone, except Rodgers, throws INTs. Rookies have a tendency to throw more than their fair share. Cameron, by the last quarter of the year, did a fine job cutting down on his.

I see no reason to be the least bit unhappy with where Cameron is listed. And GOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • I said this last night to family. You can look at Bryce as not a “strong and physical” presence and that’s not going to change on you can look at it, that this guy has the type of skillset that sets him up to only get better for the next 5-7 years every year. He’s not going to know less about the game next year than this year. His timing will be better, his pocket presence better (even though the guy works around a pocket amazingly in my opinion), everything is just going to improve every year and I believed he’s already proved the doubters wrong other than nut huggers on here who just want a big strong man to drool over.
    • The Seahawks won an emotional, divisional, overtime rivalry game vs the Rams on a Thursday night (Dec 18).  That gives them 10 days to prepare for the Panthers, but the Christmas holiday fell a week later--I bet they were afforded an extra day for travel-many coming back east.  Following the Panthers, Seattle plays at San Francisco for the division title (in all probability).   The Rams finish the season with games against the Falcons and Cardinals, two likely wins, pushing them to 13-4.  The Niners finish the season with home games against the Bears and Seahawks. Seattle finishes the season with the Panthers on the road and SF in California.   It is easy to see how preparing for the Panthers, during the holiday break and with the Niners waiting for them in SF a week later for (what could be) the NFC West title and #1 Seed in the NFC, could create the perfect trap game scenario.  The Panthers at home are 5-2.   In the past 2 weeks, the Seahawks struggled to beat the Phillip Rivers Colts in Seattle and then pulled off a miraculous, emotional victory at home vs. the Rams.  I am not convinced that they are as good as advertised. Seattle is a TD favorite in Charlotte.  I feel that Carolina by 3 may be more accurate.  While I am still not confident in this team's consistency and it never seems to dominate, it sure feels like a trap game for Seattle to me.  How could they NOT be thinking of San Francisco right now?  They are not used to being in this position (current players) and it is human nature.  Carolina 27, Seattle 24.
    • It is a tough decision.  There is another factor.  Is he in game shape?  A tired Hunt is not better than an "in-shape" Corbett.  When coming off an injury, it is natural to want to protect the injured area, even if it is completely healed.  This can cause you to contort your body for no reason, lose fundamentals, and it could lead to other injuries.  For example, I had a knee in high school that required getting taped.  That made me aware of the knee (not used to tape on my knee) and I pulled my groin (favoring or dragging the leg with the tape).  The trainer explained the groin injury the way I do here--but scared money makes no money.  If he is cleared to play, he is cleared to play.  Watch him, rotate him in for a series, etc.  Specifically, I would want to watch the matchup--who is winning more--Corbett or Hunt?  How is the defense reacting (if at all) to Hunt being in?  Etc.
