Things your children do to make you feel old

So my daughter is ten and she got a cell phone for Christmas. I was against it, but her mother (NOT my wife BTW, just my BM) pretty much goes out of her way to do the opposite of whatever I say. So long story short she has the phone and I'm telling her how I didn't have a cell phone until I was 21 or something like that, and back in my day we had pagers. She asked "what's a pager", and then I tried to explain to her the premise of how a pager works and the concept of pager code. Try expaining that to someone that is growing up in the internet-at-your-fingertips 24/7 and text messaging era. She thought I was crazy.

I'm 29.

I fee like I'm 50.

Thanks honey.

A few years ago I mentioned the movie ET to my son (who is now 18) and he had no idea what I was talking about. I couldn't believe the movie was made 11 years before he was born.

Oh, and my 7 year old darling little girl reminds me on a weekly basis that I look much older than her mom (who is the same age as me) therefore I will die much sooner than her. I am 38 and she acts like I am knocking on deaths door.

    • Got to talk to Tiny Lister once back when I worked for AT&T.  He was a nice guy.
    • The team signed undrafted rookie JJ Weaver from Kentucky. The 25-year-old Weaver played six seasons in college (with injury waivers), and had 21.5 sacks. He was a three-time team captain for the Wildcats. To make room for him on the roster, the Panthers released outside linebacker Amare Barno. Barno, a sixth-round pick in 2022, tore his ACL late in the 2023 season and began last year on the physically unable to perform list. He had 3.0 sacks in three seasons, appearing in 29 games. Sad to see. He seemed to have a lot of potential when he was drafted. Injuries really derailed him though.
    • Ok so how does this make sense for Blake?  Honestly I like it for us.  I’m really high on Blake’s future like I’m sure the Canes FO is.  If he continues along the path he’s on, we’ll have a top 6 forward on a KK contract.
