What Are Your Thoughts: Addressing Sts In The Draft

Since only about 2 kicks are returned per game after the new rule, punt returner is more important. Adams has a migraine condition that could be a red flag. Wylie is a kid I like because he returns punts, has good speed and hands. etc. Not saying he close to Steve Smith, but his college stats and size/speed are similar.

Interesting, didn't know about Adams migraine condition. For some they can be pretty well controlled, but for some (Percy Harvin, I believe, they can be debilitating).

I like Wylie as well, but feel like Adams is more of a Steve Smith in terms of becoming a very good reciever in the longer term as well as the return skills.

Oops, the reason I quoted you was to mention that I agree with you about punt returner being more important of the 2.

I think the story I read compared him to Harvin. IF I could find the link I would share, I would. Too long ago. Adams is on our radar enough for a visit.

Why would you think Edwards...scary drops & low production OR Pilares whose never returned a punt for us & was not good at it in college could fill that need?! Even Hogan has minimal objective proof that he could become weapon in that role?

THis isn't about Edwards, Pilares or Hogan but about Adams. If we are committed to finding a punt returner, would he be the right one and could he do anything else? Would we use a pick on someone who would be a special teamer only andd how high would that be? A 2nd/3rd or a fifth or lower? If he is Hester part 2, then perhaps he is worth a pick, but if he isn't that much of an upgrade over who we have, then why waste a pick on him. We have done this before with Ryne Robinson and others. Returners are a dime a dozen and can be had with an UDFA or a guy who actually can play on offense or defense. I just don't know if he is worth it.

I agree if we get somebody I would love that they can do more then just be a KR/PR.

I agree this is about Adams, not the others, but I think it was you who brought up the others.

In my original post part of my point is that this guy could become MORE than just a R/PR, but...that we need serious help at KR/PR. 54 rec. in 2011 & wasn't even tagged as the #1 WR (after his return skills...he could be a dangerous slot...was really my point).

Final thought, returners may be a dime a dozen, but effective & game changing returners are not.
