Panthers To Be In Cap Trouble In 2013 Too?

Ken

Recommended Posts

2014 Falcons = $4.38 million per player

2014 Buccs = $3.8 million per player

2014 Saints = $4.38 million per player

2014 Panthers = $4.50 million per player

Stats can be manipulated to prove a point, at the end of the day we are all pretty much in the same boat other than the Buccs. But then the Buccs have half the talent as all the other teams.

If you add in Bree's long-term contract, assuming he signs, which will likely be 20 million a year, the Saints will actually be above us.

FWIW I think JR basically told Hurney to re-sign D-Will no matter what. Same with Kalil/Johnson/Beason/Davis

I also have a theory that Kasay was released partly b/c of the lockout and him being the player rep.

Only moves I don't think JR directly influenced was the Trade for Olsen, that said he did approve it.

Richardson: "Marty said, 'I'm reluctant to bring this (acquiring Olsen) up because we talked about keeping our own players.' I said, 'Marty we'd be crazy not to do this. We (can) take a 26-year-old tight end we coveted coming out of the draft.' "

    • I think he's gone, and rightfully so, if he turns in another losing record. The "talented roster," regardless of how true or not, is a double-edged sword. If the roster is so much improved now from 202X then why are you still producing losing seasons? On one hand, maybe that's what needs to happen. Have the GM hire the new coach, and then have the new coach pick his guy to run his system. That is typically how it works in the NFL. Not the forced inheritance deal we have had in place.
    • Hinging on Brooks to be our spark...be good if it happens... but not holding my breath....RB next draft. Morgan gambled...it would be a 2 year payoff if thing happened.
    • Only way Canales is fired is if we are attrocious everywhere....  defense /special teams and offense..  There are enough "questions" on if BY9 is the guy that ownership wouldn't fire the coach for "just" mid qb play.  Especially with as talented a roster that has played "well enough" to win some tough football games and hang in there against the top tier of the NFL ...(mostly).   Now total team suckage..yeah .. but I don't see that happening.
