Panthers Pro Days And Private Workouts

Defensive tackle has been the top position of need on this board all off-season so do not tell me any differently. Go back to my previous posts, you will see that I am in the minority when picking something other than defensive tackle at pick 9. The article was as complete as it needed to be, it had one point and it delivered that point. Wide receiver may or may not be the pick but the article shows stronger interest at receiver than defensive tackle for the top players at their positions.

No it hasn't for those who know what our true needs are. Have some guys looked at D as our primary need. Yeah but that doesn't mean it actually is a need. We are looking for a pass rusher. If it is a DT it would have to be a guy who could ply 3 technique and swing out to the 5 technique as well. We have enough straight up nose tackles or 3 technique guys already.

Wee are showing strong interest in a wide receiver if we trade down which assumes that many of the impact DT, CB and DE guys are off the board. The only wide receivers we are looking at in the 9 slot are Blackmon or Floyd.

We are getting a wr somewhere.Too many visits at all spots in the draft..I am a bit surprised at the cb and olb position......I dont see much interest past trading down in the first. It could be they have Hogan graded higher than other picks.

    • I presented that scenario because this is a home game and we seemed to have improved in some capacity in that area as of recently. The problem with the possibility of sweeping the Bucs is this team has had a habit of quickly falling victim to momentum shifts. The Bucs are coming off a bitter loss the same as the Panthers but the Bucs have a much better proven track record this time of year and they have performed when the pressure is on unlike our Panthers. We have a shot against the Seahawks here in BOA but that is a matchup that could quickly get out of hand because they are a well coached team and that goes back to the momentum shifts I mentioned. I just don't see this team beating the Bucs in their stadium to close the season. Tall order to say the least.
    • I’d give it another year for Sanders and Evans, I don’t much care what you do with Tremble’s spot. Let him have another year or maybe replace him. Haven’t looked at his contract so that may be the determining factor.
    • Following the crazy up down pattern we finish 9-8 with an improbable sweep of TB, and lay an egg in the home playoff game.  I don’t know if I can sign on to sweeping TB but I suppose it’s possible, they aren’t really that good this year.    ps I can buy beating TB Sunday and losing to Seattle.  Then it just gets to can you fluke one game. Any given Sunday. So we’ll see.
