So Now Rg3 Is Selfish Too ...?

bears repeating. the question itself is borderline rhetorical, but investigating possible answers will reveal more than actually pondering whether he is or is not selfish, and whether or not it matters one bit if he is.

The question from me is certainly rhetorical. Saying this serves these scouts no purpose. Washington isn't going to read this and and decide to not pull the trigger on him. Washington knows what they know. He is their guy.

While I'll grant that interviews don't necessarily tell the full story, every time I've seen RG3 speak, he's come off as a great kid. Polite, well-spoken, friendly, confident but not arrogant, the kind of guy anybody would want on their team.

Mind you, I don't think he'll be as good as Newton (maybe a better version of Vick) but character should be dead last on anyone's list of concerns about this kid.

RG3 knew the moment the Redskins moved up he was going to Washington. He was/is a life long Broncos fan and loves Shanahan. He wants to play for him. So he didn't have a private meeting with Indie, so what. He doesn't want to play there and he knows (just like everyone else) they are drafting Luck so its a waste of his time. Shanahan's son Kyle has been meeting with him IN Texas and going over the Redskins playbook. Getting an early start. Hows that for selfish?

At this stage in the game, what is the point of saying this?

There actually kind of is one, although it's not something that makes a lot of practical sense.

You know how when people don't get something they want, sometimes they turn around and act like they didn't really want it anyway? Well, teams have been known to knock draft picks they know aren't going to fall to them. It's a way of saying to fans "don't be upset, he wasn't really that great". That, plus it makes it easier o tell everybody that the guy you did get was the one you really wanted all along.

it really sounds like he has some character issues to me. washington should have done their homework before they decided to mortgage their future on this problem child.

oh, so griffin gets to decide what team he plays for? he wants to draft a team rather than have a team draft him? ditch this chump, he's more concerned with being an entertainer and an icon in a big market than winning football games.

Well, at least your trolling here for the past year will come in handy. You already know what stupid poo the Eagles, Giants, & Cowboys are going to say! :)

1) Shoot i would let him marry my daughter! He's that great of a kid. Nothing in his background to suggest otherwise.

2) I actually think he will be better than Cam. He has everything Cam has other than size and is the more accurate passer coming out of college. The only thing Cam has is height and weight but its not like RG3 is a midget.

I can see that to some extent, but it has been a given he was going 1 or 2 for quite some time now. Why come out and say it a week before the draft? All that says to NFL fans is that whichever scout said this is just butthurt.

Or the team he represents is.

Pretty massive egos you're dealing with here.

Well see heres the thing, when you walk into an SEC locker room one day and completely take that division over - winning every game, the heisman, the national championship - you get a LOT of haters. RG3 just beat up on whoever the hell Baylor plays. Not many folks care about Baylor or their opponents so you get less criticism.

But I do think he has a fake smile. When he's on TV they use CGI to instantly photoshop on that perfect grin on his face.
