Want To Discuss Our Charlotte Franchise?

In peace? Without falling victim to trolling?

I wouldn't post this if it wasn't necessary. If you want to talk Panthers, this site is the place to be. If you want to talk Bobcats... ehh, not so much. Any conversation to be had about our team has now devolved to "this is a REAL topic!" or "this happened b/c _____ is racist."

Whether it is sincere or sarcastic, I came to talk about my team and that is no longer possible here thanks to the retarded garbage that a select few have interjected, insinuated, or encouraged into every conversation. I'm sick of it. Race shouldn't even be a point of discussion in 99% of the subjects on this board. We're here to talk about our team.

This isn't 1940 or even 1964... We are decades past that. Yes, racism is very much alive and well and you have likely even read me speculating that it has played into some people's opinions in sports related subjects that have been discussed here in the past (Cam, Michael Vick, etc.).

But, I have not seen anything race-related relevant to our current situation with the Bobcats (or possible Hornets).

So, that being said...

For any true Charlotte Bobcats (or possible Charlotte Hornets) fans that want to talk about our team without being insulted, lambasted, or having your threads derailed and/or locked, feel free to go over to Bobcatsplanet.com.

It's clear the mods here at the huddle aren't interested in this Bobcats forum and I've basically been told it's a joke of a forum to them by one tenured mod, so they pretty much let things go unchecked here.

There are so many awesome forums on this board, and as a long-time member, I enjoy most of them... But, this one isn't useful anymore as it has devolved into garbage and rhetorical conjecture from the "mod" who then locks threads after he takes weeks of his time to derail them.

BTW, not that it should matter, but to show how irrational and warped this Bobcats subforum is, the founder and mod over Bobcatsplanet (Ziggy) is not white and allows any and all discussion relevant to our franchise. Yet, amazingly, hardly any discussion of race ever pop up, nor do rebrand threads get locked.

If you care about our franchise and have a legit discussion to be had, you can do it there without being insulted. Sure, a certain someone you know might come through and spew some "The Hornets are in New Orleans" crap, but shockingly, they don't scream racism nearly as much over there... I guess because they can't control threads there and may get banned for idiocy.

I tried to bear with it and use this forum as I spend enough time here in the Panthers section, so it's easier to discuss both of our teams here. But, no longer for obvious reasons. So, again, if you want to discuss basketball without idiots irresponsibly bringing race into the equation (because that REALLY shouldn't factor into anyone's thinking if you were born in the last 35 years or so) or locking threads because they are insecure...

GO TO BOBCATSPLANET.COM FOR ALL DISCUSSION FOR YOUR CHARLOTTE BOBCATS/POSSIBLE HORNETS. (No trolling)

That is all.

What;s the activity level like over there? I have been coming here for all of my posting needs, as I prefer just 1 site, but you are right about what this forum has become for Charlotte Basketball from both sides... I will look into it... thanks

Probably more active, TBH. They often have threads/news over there that either is posted well before it makes it on the forum here or never makes it up on this forum at all. Really good site and Ziggy is awesome. They actually have a chat room over there for games, the draft, etc. as well.

Where do I go if I want to express my never ending hatred and disdain for Bob Johnson? Thats a fire in me that'll never be extinguished and I want to encourage others to feel the same. Where do I go proudiddy? Where can I go to let Bobcat fans know they aint shyt and that Hornet fans are more desirable? Please tell me Diddy.

Ziggy's got a great site over there at BOBCATSplanet.com. Id hate to see a couple entitled Hornets fans go over there ruining it. Why yall still leeching off us? We're tainted remember?

Http:// www.nola.com/hornets

You guys should go there. Its plenty of Hornet fans, stories about Hugo, and a lot of purple and teal. You guys shouldnt be saddled with the burden of pretending to care about the Bobs. Go and be with the other passionate Hornet fans. Convince them to come back home!

Bobcats are still here cornhusker. And we're still here talkin bout Bob. Its the Hornets who failed in Charlotte. The Hive is no more.

No KT.....YOU are still here talking about Bob.

The rest of us were happy to see that complete failure of an owner leave town....just like we were happy to see Shinn's sorry ass leave town.

    • Derrick Brown was one player I never called or even suggested was a bust . Dude was young and hadn't even hit his stride. It takes time to learn the position. The thing I appreciated about him is that he kept improving season after season. He got paid and keeps on going like the Energizer Bunny.
    • How many teams coddle their QB the way Bryce has been coddled? I have never seen any other team in the NFL EVER baby a QB the way that Bryce has been.  Bryce was named day 1 starter his first year. It was obvious he didnt deserve it. He wasnt ready as evidenced by the worst rookie year in NFL history.  So let's move to year 2. He's named starter again with no competition in TC and is benched 2 games later. We have the ghost of a backup in Dalton who is so bad he can only beat Vegas and let's remember, the only reason he lost his starting job was a car accident, not because Bryce actually beat him out in practice.  And year 3. We sign Dalton again, who already proved he couldn't be depended on to put an even remotely passable performance on the field, and bring back Jack Plummer, who was even worse than last year. It was obvious he was nothing more than a pretend body in an attempt to create an illusion of some type of attempt to find a backup.  Then we start again with garbage play again and Bryce gets benched with a phantom injury, and the ghost of the ghost of Dalton breaks his thumb on the first drive and craps the field all over again. If we had actually made an attempt to find a legitimate QB2, it's possible Bryce doesn't step on the field again. Bryce is not agood QB and if we had any other mediocre QB, our record would be the same or better.  Bryce is not entrenched. He's been placed, protected and sheltered from ever having to face a  real QB competition in TC. Richardson and Levis both were ass and both were benched and eventually replaced.  Do I expect Baker to face competition in camp? Sure. I expect Tampa to find the best QB2 they can at price that fits their cap and resources and system and get him up to speed. If he's better than Baker, and if he's better by a significant margin, that's best for the team. The ultimate goal is a Super Bowl. Bellichek was constantly getting QB2s with the GOAT as his starter. He knew the value and that was realized when Cassell led them to an 11-5 record as a backup.  You and I may think differently than the people that matter but I will say it again. If you're afraid to bring in a capable backup, especially after the debacle of last year. The starting role wasn't earned, it was given, and that's loser mentality.
    • I would have done the same thing.  LSU is a much better job than Ole Miss.  Plus the enormous contract and every advantage a college team can offer in terms of recruiting and facilities and tradition etc
