Some Don't Want Cam Scoring On The Ground ?

I'd rather he pass it or let one of our 3 other guys do it, sure.

Take away Newton's running and limit it to certain scenarios will be bad news for Cam. The constant threat of everything he can do is what makes him good....and the offense.

Limit his running = more picks, less productive overall offense, better chance of injury.

Cam Newton is a one man wrecking crew....I endorsed us drafting him only if used as such early on in his career. Will be a shame if they play scared with him.....but I don't think they will.....Cam won't let them

Ok, that is your opinion and I disagree. He's of no use if he cant play.

And the title is referring to him scoring on the ground. I didn't say not to let him run it I said I'd prefer to give it to the other three running options at the goal line or throw it.

Nobody here makes the play calls so I wouldn't waste too much energy arguing about it.

So you think Cam has a greater chance of injury as a runner vs standing in the pocket?

Cam can get into the endzone easier than any other options overall....of course others will get there touches. Misdirection and having a D guess doesn't work it is all Cam all the time. It is just vital for him to be PART of it. NFL coaches have already called him unstoppable down there and he was after about 1/4 into the season.

yes, running backs have shorter careers than QBs...I don't think that is any kind of secret.

Ok, thanks for your opinion.

Cam is not a running back....which is why he is such an efficient runner.

We probably would have won 2 games last year if that if Cam didn't run...his dual threat ability made it all work and made the offense good.

Saying Cam must run doesn't imply he be used as a battering ram.

Quit being little chicken shits. If you want an immobile pocket passing QB we can always trade Cam for Matt Ryan.

These are probably the same guys who voted for Megatron to be on Madden...

They if we wanted a pocket passer we wouldn't of drafted Newton. Let him be the one man highlight reel.... sit back and enjoy the show.

Better than making the most prolific rookie QB in history regress because you are scared

Seriously, what are you talking about? What am I supposed to be scared about and how could it possibly affect Cam Newton?

Nobody here calls the plays if you need to be reminded again.

Sounds like an excellent plan you got there.....lol

I think so...

Carolina has never had a player with Cam's potential. Enjoy it. Don't wish for this franchise to reel in certain aspects of his game that make him a beast.

He is young and built like a tank. When he is approaching his late 20s then worry about limiting his hits. That is half a decade away. Right now, let him abuse the league. .

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
