Bobcats Interested In Jerry Sloan?

SNO is a white racist. The mods had to delete one of his racist threads earlier this week. The old let me dump on a black person to build white solidarity tactic backfired.

Nightcrawler most people want the best candidate for the job. But some of the white males in our community feel entitled that all their heroes to be white males. So if our black owner hires a black coach, it rubs them the wrong way. They hate multi culturalism, and hate seeing blacks in positions of authority (ex: me running this board, Bob running the Cat, Cam QBing our team) . You will never hear or see one of these folks complaining JR has hired too many white people or Wells Fargo has too many whites running the show. They want blacks tied to labor ONLY (athletes, working for whites) and not CAPITAL and OWNERSHIP

. Its very much a new south white male mentality Im describing. And its always PROACTIVE, not REACTIVE. They always throw the first rock, much like they did in this thread.

As for Sloan he'd be a great hire and would bring a toughness and work ethic to our team. Age would be the only factor.

What is funny is that you ACTUALLY believe the crap that you type.

You are CONSISTENTLY the ONLY person who gives two shits about someone's race.

I don't care if the coach is white, black, asian, or fuging polka dotted. Hire the best person for the job REGARDLESS of race. Unlike you....who wants to hire someone BECAUSE of their race.

You played the same lame card with Cam. Saying that the ownership and fanbase would NEVER support a black QB because they are racist. Now that you have been proven to be COMPLETELY wrong on that account, you are playing the same lame card here.

Get over yourself.

Actually Hatter you were the one who claimed the Panthers would never draft Cam because he's too much a thug, too stupid, and Jerry Richardson "cares too much about character"

You are ABSOLUTELY WRONG. I said over and over that the issues people were labeling Cam with were no big deals in my eyes. The things that he did in college were not major and did not bother me at all.....the stupid laptop issue, cheating on a test (who of us have not done that at least once), or even the crap his father pulled.

I NEVER questioned his character. I never questioned his intelligence. I questioned whether the skills that he showed in college translated to a top QB in the NFL.

I was not in favor of drafting him because I did not believe his skillset (as shown in college) would translate to the NFL. I was worried about the things that he did not show in college...not the things that he did show. I was not sure that he was not a great pocket passer at Auburn becuase of the lack of skill or the offense he played in. He has absolutely proven that he did not do those things because he was not asked to .....and nothing to do with his ability to do them.

The things that I was worried about were proven to be absolutely unwarranted....and I have said that over and over.

Again, you have been proven wrong.

Even though you are lying, and did call Cam a thug and unintelligent, I think its cool you can admit you "worry" about black people. Hatter why didnt you chastise carolina-chuck and MrTD for bringing up race FIRST in this thread? Is it against your culture to police the actions of white people? Do you let your kids do whatever they want?

Where did I say I "worry about black people". I worried about Cam's skillset as it translated to being a franchise QB of the team I support.....which had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do witht he color of his skin. That is where you are completely missing the boat. I DO NOT care about the color or a man's skin....I will leave that to you.

Damn bro....you are a sad and angry little man. You really should reach out and seek professional help....as you DESPERATELY NEED IT.

There is actually a pretty decent world and life out here....and you are missing it completely with your bitterness and hatred.

He was being sarcastic & poking at KT, who is racist & brings up the color of a man's skin in every thread.

It's hard to tell sarcasm from a message board but I will admit that there is times you can tell sarcasm from a post. To clear up any confusion, /sarcasm or something inside the post notating that the post is not serious.

I agree with some of the things that KT are saying as with all the Cam topics last year kinda proved his point.

I agree with some people here. I don't care what color the coach is as long as he knows how to coach. Jerry Sloan would be a great hire.

I will also throw out there that Jordan can try to get Otis Smith and Stan Van Gundy (Who won 66% of his games during his tenure)

Anyway, back on topic...

I wouldn't be upset at the Sloan hire if it happened..I think it would provide stability to a very young team (short term). I do get excited thinking about how sloan would use Kemba and Davis (hopefully) in the pick n' roll...

I don't see the value in pursuing only young coaches. Not to say young people can't coach but I don't think age discrimination is necessary. Sloan is a proven asset in the NBA and Jordan should know that better than anyone. There is no available coach more appealing than Jerry Sloan and if the Bobcats don't take him they'll regret it.

    • Yeah but at least that QB would be not short.  I keep going back to the fact other than Wilson no other short QB has ever won a Super Bowl. The success rate of short QBs is very, very low. Like count on one hand low.  Yeah some people would include Brees too but I don’t consider a 6 foot tall QB short, imo.
    • I just rewatched all the highlights from after Bryce being benched. The Bryce hate needs to calm down a little bit. He showed a ton of potential the back half of the year. Same with Legette. They both made great plays when it mattered and a few mistakes when it counted. If we didn’t have a historically awful defense last year we could have ended even a bit better. Going into a brand new season we should be optimistic at least before game one. 2015 no one expected to go anywhere and the team steam rolled the league. I’m not saying that will happen, but hopefully we made strides to improve on the end of last year. Bryce put both Super Bowl teams in a battle last year and if we had a better D we could have taken them both. So at least look forward to the season and not past the season until it at least begins.
    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
