did you know we overpaid for deangelo williams

we overpaid for williams. you don't hand a contract like that to a running back.

look at this other running back and what he is paid.

you know who else i don't like? that marty hurney guy. he overpaid for deangelo.

i am heyyall. look, i have paula deen as my avatar. isn't that cool and didn't we overpay for deangelo williams?

did you know that marty hurney sucks? he overpaid deangelo williams. you don't hand that kind of money to a running back. look at this other running back and what he is paid by a general manager that is not marty hurney.

again, i have a paula deen avatar. isn't that funny and doesn't marty hurney suck?

Guest Bwood

23 year old Lesean 5 year 45 million, 20 million guaranteed

28 year old Deangelo 5 year 43 million, 21 million guaranteed

Something doesn't belong.

You don't belong.

So 29 is the new 60? DeAngelo is in the prime of his NFL career & at a peak age for a man's physical strength. It's not the NFL of the 90's where the RB is washed up by his 30th birthday. DeAngelo has split carries with Stewart & will prove to be worth his contract. It's a different situation from a Marshall Faulk or Eddie George. DeAngelo hasn't endured the same work load.

I wouldn't say they're that far apart. McCoy is really good, putting my homerism aside he's probably better.

He's not better, not by a long shot. He's a back that doesn't split carries, so his numbers are going to be comparable. He's really good, but if their situations were reversed I think Deangelo would have produced a little better. That being said, McCoy deserves a slightly bigger contract than Deangelo because he's a lone back and he's younger.

I could care less about McCoy's contract, he is a good football player, but how much another team values their players has no affect on how I feel my team values its players.

DWill might seem to be overpaid, but we needed to keep him, and insuring that he will be with us for the long haul, we paid the man, a lot of people were complaining that our owner was cheap, and when he started paying players, everyone complained he was turning into Al Davis... Im happy we locked up DWill, and I'm happy he is happy, he deserved it...

McCoy led NFL w/ 50 broken tackles, per FB Outsiders. Also 1st w/ 14 runs of 20+ yds. AND played more snaps than any RB.

McCoy ranks third among all running backs with 166 receptions and despite piling up 801 total touches in his career.

He has surrendered just five fumbles (160.2 touches per fumble).

lol D-will is at his prime, despite not having a 1,000 yard season the past TWO seasons.

    • Right and I think we can have a conversation about that. But even with the scheme he should still be able to muster more than 1.5 sacks right? I mean DJ Johnson played in Evero's scheme too but that didn't stop us from calling him a bust. Scourton didn't seem to have trouble flashing. There can be different things true at one time.
    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
