Jeffri Chadiha's Top 10 Receivers

Recommended Posts

Chadiha works for ESPN and ESPN has started having columnist put together lists of the top ten players at each position.

A few weeks ago John Clayton ranked the top ten tight ends and this past week Chadiha did wide receivers.

I can post the link because it's in slide show view but I'll list the players out by rank below.

1. Calvin Johnson

2. Larry Fitzgerald

3. Andre Johnson

4. Roddy White

5. Steve Smith

6. Greg Jennings

7. Mike Wallace

8. Wes Welker

9. A.J. Green

10. DeSean Jackson

Chadiha had this to say on Steve Smith...

His career was supposed to be coming to an end before he caught 79 passes for 1,394 yards and earned a Pro Bowl spot in 2011. Carolina's Smith was the best thing that happened to Cam Newton last fall.

This is the third time this off-season that Smith has been considered by analysts and reporters a top five wide out with two appearances at number five and one appearance at number three.

Nonetheless, my list is a little different...

1. Calvin Johnson

2. Larry Fitzgerald

3. Steve Smith

4. Andre Johnson

5. Brandon Marshall

6. Wes Welker

7. Roddy White

8. Marques Colston

9. Mike Wallace

10. Hakeem Nicks

What's your top ten?

What does Andre do better than Calvin in your opinion?

I'm a Miami fan haha.

I love them both and you could really go either way. I guess I like Andre's toughness and leadership more.

Yea injuries are a bitch. That team could've won it all last year with a healthy Andre and Shcaub IMO.

And as far as Wes goes, I see him nothing more than a system guy. He should be fortunate for Brady because if Smith was playing his role he'd be a first ballet hall of famer. And that drop in the superbowl...That's your job dude, on the biggest day of your career.

Lol @ all the mike Wallace love.

He's so highly regarded that no team wants to offer him a contract. Dude is a burner no doubt but I'd much rather Antonio Brown.

I like Antonio Brown a lot, helped me win my fantasy league.

But I think Mike Wallace is a #1 receiver, and he's going to get a lot better.

    • KP is not a straight up carbon copy but they look awful close to me.  T
    • You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).
    • In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
