Eric Gordon?

New Orleans Hornets shooting guard Eric Gordon says he excited about the prospect of having Anthony Davis as a teammate, but it won’t stop his plans to listen to offers in free agency this summer. New Orleans Times-Picayune

With him now saying he will listen to offers would anyone be interested in the bobcats offering him a contract? He avg 20ppg and 3 ast over the last 2 seasons. I think he could be a interesting guy to look at for the team, he is a true scorer that we desperately need. He can shoot drive and pass, plays solid defense. Question is what is he worth? how much would we have to pay to get him here and is it worth a thought?

I wanted to make a thread about this earlier also.

If MJ is not greedy and wanna spend some money, Gordon would be a nice addition. Great shooter and could be a veteran for our young team. We could also build a team around Gordon. The only thing is, he's a RFA which NO could match any offers giving to him. Which they probably will.

Our starting fives could change dramatically if we sign Gordon and do well in the draft. Imagine:

PG Kemba

SG Gordon

SF Kidd-Gilchrist

PF Maggette

C. Biyombo

Maggette can't play power forward lol

maggette wouldn't last two games at pf, and biyambo would be done in 6 weeks. its not about their abilities, its about their physical capabilities to withstand those positions

biyambo may grow into a center, but we really don't know anything about him yet other than he can block shots like a 10 foot spider

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
