Aaron Kampman?

10 year vet Aaron Kampman was released by the Jaguars today.

Any chance we bring him in for depth and leadership? I feel like we could use another older guy to help out with our younger defensive linemen.

Apparently he's injured often...Why would we want him?

Well obviously don't sign him if he's currently injured. But if he's healthy I think he could contribute on the field backing up Charles Johnson and he could definitely be important to have in the locker room.

We lack defensive captains. This team is young and our defensive line is especially young.

The Jaguars released the veteran pass rusher Thursday, five days before the start of a mandatory, three-day minicamp.

Kampman has missed 28 games over the last three seasons while playing for Jacksonville and Green Bay, including 13 last year. He had 57 tackles and four sacks in 11 games during his two seasons with the Jaguars.

He sat out all of organized team activities last month while recovering from a second surgery on his right knee.

Do not want. Rather have Carter over this guy. Just my opinion though.

Yeah in that case I would pass on him. We need to be injury free this season.

Veteran leadership on this defense is essential though, and I don't know if we have it yet.

jesus what happened to him? I remember he was one of the best DEs in the league in GB and has been basically injured since then.

if hes healthy and willing to play for peanuts bring him in for a look. otherwise just hope some of our youngsters step it up.

Well that didn't take long. Someone shoots down my giddy for no apparent reason other than to squash my dream of Kampman. I always liked his motor and skill set. Seems like that motor got the better of him. Too bad for me I guess.

Oh well, nothing lasts forever. But hell, that was what? Less than 10 minutes? Com' on man.

    • If you need someone to run your multi-billion dollar business, maaayyyybe don't hire a guy whose previous work experience includes repeated blows to the head and literal brain damage but IDK.
    • Extrapolate that with every QB for that matter. I guarantee you there's quite a bit of missed opportunities and yards left on the field for everyone. Many NFL QBs deal with WRs not putting in A+ effort, subpar o-line play and other deficiencies. The great ones are able to rise above these issues and create opportunities for plays. Guys like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can both play in and out of structure, as well as find ways to get yards when things break down and mask mistakes by throwing guys open, creating opportunities from nothing, etc. Bryce Young has only shown he's able to make things happen when the rest of the team picks up his slack. Very rarely does he create those opportunities himself. When this is a consistent pattern year after year with Bryce where he shows up lackluster, it's a concern. This is year three and he should be elevating the team as a first overall pick this franchise traded up for.  He was far from elevating anyone against JAX. In fact, he needed others to elevate and create for him. Excuses may be fine for a rookie, but this is year three for the first overall pick. Not looking good so far.
    • I think the worst issue is coaching. Countless bad snaps, XL not getting his feet in or trying on runs plays, our centre being down field when he didn't need to be. All seem to be from poor coaching for me. I believe Canales is to soft to rip the players a new one when the fug up. Plus I honestly believe that Canales is slow getting his plays in giving Bryce less time to diagnose and adjust to the defence. Don't worry I could of head butted Bryce for that fumble and the 4th down throw aways but the other plays are explainable to me
