Bridges- Could possibly be resigned and I would be happy if we did. Already signed to the Redskins...

Hackett- Taken care of Smith, Jarrett, Moose, Robinson, Goodson

Goings- Taken care of Williams, Stewart, Goodson

Gibson- Taken care of Irvin, Lewis, Kemo, Hayden

Lucas- Taken care of Martin, Marshall, and Gamble, Wilson

The only backup spot I'm worried about is center.

Hackett was also signed by the Redskins.

Jason Kyle is also not on the list.

I could see us going with 2 TE and saying goodbybe to Rosario, he had a couple of good games but he's not Gates, and Goodson could fill his roll.

I think this is exactly what will happen. Rosario is a one trick pony. He is not a particularly good blocker, so he is pretty much only a pass catcher...and one with inconsistent hands. Therefore, I think he, along with Goings, can easily be replaced by the two rookies (Fiammetta, Goodson). Fiammetta gives us the blocking that Rosario lacked and Goodson gives us the extra receiving threat we would lose from dropping Rosario (actually Barnidge would more directly take the receiving TE role, but Rosario's roster spot may be the landing place for Goodson if he looks to become our Westbrook or Bush).

And this back surgery is not coming at a good time for Rosario. Along with missing out on the work you get with the mini camps and OTA's, he is giving Barnidge a chance to steal the #2 spot without even being able to put up a fight (I think this would happen anyway, but now all he can do is watch). And from the way it sounds, it seems like Barnidge is taking the pass catching TE role by the throat. So Rosario may have already lost the spot by the time he has a chance to get back on the field.

As for how Fiammetta would affect Hoover, there is no way Brad gets cut. In fact, I think he'll play out his contract before moving on to civilian life (two more years). Fiammetta will rotate in as FB on occasion while filling several roles for the offense (primarily as an extra blocker on short yardage situations). In fact, I think Fiammetta coming on board may be a good thing for Hoover. With a legitimate FB coming in, he has someone that can give him a break and allow him to pace himself now that he is getting older and has more aches and pains.

I think the 2 TE thing is the best way to keep both.

All i KNOW Is just like every other year, there will be surprise veteran cuts.

But something I did not think about; Fox is VERY loyal to his Vets, that should be enough to keep Hoover around.

I have to say, I would love to find room on our roster for Lee as well.

CHARLOTTE – If the Carolina Panthers don’t want running back Jamall Lee, there’s definitely a team that does.

On Saturday, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League traded their sixth and 13th overall picks in the draft to move up to No. 3 overall to select Lee, a hometown kid from nearby Port Coquitlam in the 2009 CFL Draft.

Lee, who is currently under contract with the Panthers, was on the practice field Saturday when he was selected by the Tiger-Cats and didn’t learn of the news until his father, Orville, texted his son on his Blackberry. Orville Lee was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1988 CFL draft from Simon Fraser University and is the last Canadian-born player to lead the CFL in rushing.

“It was a good feeling and lets me know they’re really interested in me, and that they’re willing to wait to see if things work out here,” Lee said after the Panthers wrapped up minicamp Sunday morning.

But make no doubt about it, Lee would prefer to play for the Panthers.

The most obvious reason is financial.

If Lee makes the Panthers 53-man roster, he’d earn the rookie minimum of $310,000 this season, which is considerably much more than he'd make in the CFL. Even as the No. 3 overall pick, Lee would only make about $50,000 for the Tiger-Cats.

However, Lee will have to do quite a bit to impress the Panthers between now and early September when the team makes its final cuts.

The Panthers have running backs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart returning from last year and they drafted Mike Goodson from Texas A&M in the third round of the NFL draft. Typically, the Panthers only keep three running backs on the active roster.

However, Lee was one of the players the Panthers had on their radar and they called him just five minutes after the completion of the draft to offer a free agent contract.

For Lee, it’s nice to know he has a fallback option just in case things don’t work out here. He’d miss a good portion of the CFL regular season because they begin play in August when the Panthers are just getting going in training camp.

“It’s nice to be drafted, but I’d love to make it here,” Lee said. “The CFL is a great league. I am very proud of the guys up there that got drafted from my (college) team.

"But this is where I want to be. This is where the best players are and I want to push myself as far as I can go and see what happens. If that doesn’t work out, I’m happy I took my shot and I go back home and play.”

The 6-foot-1, 225-pound running back received some NFL interest after running the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds, the fastest ever recorded at Canada’s version of the Scouting Combine.

“Jamall Lee had to be one of the top two guys in the draft,” general manager Wally Buono told the Vancouver Sun after the draft. “He had to be. He’s from B.C., he has a tremendous background, great kid. There are no red flags. Sure, he got signed by Carolina. But a lot of guys get signed (by the NFL).”

Buono thinks very highly of Lee, who was Canadian University Football's rushing leader with 1,202 yards on 182 carries (150 yards per game) and 10 touchdowns last season. He holds the Quebec University Football League career records for rushing yards (4,296) and rushing touchdowns (35).

“Size, quickness, speed. He’s a fine young man with lots of intangibles,” he said. “A great CIS (Canadian university) career doesn’t always s translate into a great CFL back. But there’s lots to get excited about with Jamall.”

Panthers coach John Fox also likes what he’s seen from Lee thus far.

“He’s learning our system. He has physical tools and we’ll see how he progresses,” Fox said.

Speaking of Lee- Watching his highlights the one thing I DID notice; he runs straight up like Peterson, the last RB is seen run like that was W. Peyton. Now I am not saying the kid is as good or will be as those two. But the running style is the same.

Obviously you read the whole thing.

Hackett sucked balls and we got our long snapper via trade.

I'm sorry you're hurt and pissed off, I'm just being honest here. Be as mad as you can be, I'll still be here, I'm not trying to hurt you here...

I am not enraged or anything. We are all cat fans here. But when you quote the post and edit it, then its pretty obvious you read the whole thing.

All I'm trying to say is that we've got depth. I expect Hoover and Tony to be on the team. I'd say its more likely that one of the LBs are on the way out, we are stacked there.
