I see Barnes the same way I saw Glen Rice coming out of UM in 89-90 and Paul Perice coming out of Kansas.

Both didn't have quick 1st steps and were thought more as jump shooter. Both became better players in the NBA.

One should be a PF like Jamison but never worked hard to be the player he could be. One hasn't even started his career yet.

I think what Tom is saying is Barnes is as soft as a kitten and the Bobcats should look elsewhere. I'm not a fan of Barnes, he does nothing for me. I see him and i think of....Adam Morrison. Not in style of play but in unfurfilled hype. Of course i'm a Duke fan and that being said i don't want Rivers either. Not for the Bobcats, he doesn't fill a need.

No not really. I see Barnes name all over the place. He's name has been mentioned more than any other player in regard to who the Bobcats will draft. I think is a mistake. Its J R Reid all over again, and again.

Barnes is not a special shooter, special defender, or special penetrator...he is a high volume college shooter that has a decent good range jumper. Those players are a dime a dozen in the NBA. The 2nd best oplayer long term in this draft is MKG...He's a better defender and rebounder than Barnes, has a serviceable jumper and doesn't have to have the ball in his hands in order to be a star. He has all the tools to be an Iguadala type player.

Ask yourself if you'd rather have AI2 or Luol Deng bc those are the two player types you are comparing with MKG and Barnes.

I don't get the hype with Beal either. He's a 6'4" shooting guard with really no feel for running point.
