What's taking Gettis so long?

no, homer-ism sucks, we have been so desperate for a second WR for so long, anybody that lines up opposite no.89 our fans think he is heir to the throne, when in reality, they couldn't make any other team but ours...Adams might have a chance as a slot guy, but Gettis, Pilares and Edwards shouldn't be more then practice squad players

Spoken like someone who clearly doesn't pay attention to the rosters of other teams. For instance, our WR corps has more experience and better statistics, when you compare side by side according to depth chart position, than the Redskins. That's just one example. We don't have the most talented, or statistically dominating group, but they are FAR from the worst.

You should get informed before you rage. He's suffering from a different injury right now. It's no big deal. They're just being cautious.

But it didn't sound like he was even as close to ready to go as TD was before the hammy injury anyways

tall, fast, made a couple nice catches and dropped some easy passes, and people swear gettis is the fuging man around here....

The guy was being talked about as a potential first or second round pick if he had stayed in school for his senior year, he did some impressive things considering he had Jimmy throwing him the ball as a rookie.

If you can't see the potential of a guy his size and speed with a QB like Cam, then you're nuts

all we have had for years is players with POTENTIAL that never make it, trust me, I was a fan of Gettis, but im not keeping my hopes up, sure, I would love for him to come back, make a big impact and progress forward as a whole team, but I am open minded and look at the whole picture, not hating on Gettis, just don't see how so many people think he is a stud, he is average at best and would have to get acclimated to this system and Cam before he could even be considered decent, and he isn't doing that from the classroom and sidelines

You are a clown. Gettis put up good numbers as a rookie with clausen slinging. Pillares has had the best camp so far according to reports and your boy Adams has barely gotten any reps at wideout special teams only. Why don't you do yourself a favor and read the day by day reports from multiple sources all saying pillares looks great. Pffffff clown bro. Clown

"Jimmy" was also talked about being THE top pick...... how is that working out? you never know how a player will translate into the NFL, I don't listen to a word the "draft experts" say cuz you just simply never know what you get til it's on the field

You have 1,684 post and not one person has given you pie bro. That should let you know what your peers think about your opinion. Nobody respects it. Sorry but you a homer of your own crappy opinion

I also have my doubts about Gettis returning but Ajirotutu and Green have been nice surprises in camp so far.

In my opinion Seyi Ajirotutu could be a diamond in the rough for us. He had a solid career at Fresno State. At Fresno he played in 43 games, while starting in 31. During those 43 games, he totaled 129 receptions for 1,997 yards and 12 touchdowns.

His NFL career statistics are a little down but that is due to the fact that he has been the fifth and sixth wide receiver each year he has been in the NFL. If Gettis is on the PUP come week one, I expect Ajirotutu to be the fourth wide out on the roster behind Smith, LaFell, and Murphy.

Ajirotutu is essentially the exact same player as David Gettis. In 24 (zero starts) games, Ajirotutu has 14 receptions for 266 yards (19.0 yards per catch) and two touchdown's.

In 2011, he played primarily on special teams for the Panthers, however he did record one reception for four yards in week 12 verses Tampa Bay.

In 2010, he spent six weeks on the practice squad with San Diego before his coming out party in week seven verses the New England Patriots where he had two catches for 26 yards (including a 20 yarder).

Ajirotutu recorded stats in six games in 2010 for the Chargers where he showed his ability to be a deep threat. Below is a list of yards per reception for each of those six games in 2010.

vs Patriots (13.0 yards per catch, 20 yard long)

vs. Titans (16.0 yards per catch, 25 yard long)

@ Texans (27.8 yards per catch, 55T yard long)

@ Colts (16.0 yards per catch, 16 yard long)

vs. Raiders (22 yards per catch, 25 yard long)

@ Broncos (17 yards per catch, 17 yard long)

Best Game: vs Houston Texans (4 receptions, 111 yards, two touchdowns)

Ajirotutu also recorded two special teams tackle's in 2010 with the Chargers.

I think Seyi Ajirotutu will be a great backup plan in case Gettis can't return.

could care less about pie or rep, it's not like I sit here and think of lame ass poo to say that will get me pie, i mean come on, question someone's opinion on a player and they talk poo to you? sounds like homer-ism to me, it's all good, not gonna argue, everybody has a opinion, like the same douchebags who hated on me when I said Clausen wasn't NFL material.... You gotta think outside the box, look at multiple angles of a players game and performance, then make a opinion, but you people that have nothing better to do then talk poo to other fans and then expect to be taken serious is a joke, it's like middle school where you keep reciting "yo mama" jokes to try to be funny and original... only now your an adult and your only friends are other fans. Have a good day, keep your hopes up

You act as if pickles career is over? He has a week arm but showed some clutch play late in some games as a rookie. He wasn't ready for a gutted team as a rookie. He can be a solid backup in this league at worst.
