Connecting MacBook pro to hd tv

I have the 2011 version of MacBook pro and would like to stream the video in my computer to my tv, how do I do it?

You need to get a mini dvi to hdmi adapter and then run an hdmi from that to your tv. The only problem is I don't think that supports audio so you would need to get like a Y audio cable which plugs in the headphone jack on your computer then splits to the RCA cables (White & Red). There may be an easier way that I'm not aware of but that's how I hook mine up. It's kind of a pain so I might get apple tv ($99) which will allow you to stream wirelessly to your tv if you upgrade the operating system to mountain lion is my understanding

Get the Mountain Lion upgrade and an Apple TV then install AirParrot
