TD is back, but should we let him play in the preseason?

davis won't be starting over anderson. anderson is just too solid a player to bench, esp. for someone that hasn't played in two years.

as far as davis being used situationally, it's already been talked about and considered a forgone conclusion. in fact rivera has been talking about even recently about him being among the first team...on special teams.

“Thomas is looking really good,” Rivera said. “We’re pretty confident in what he’s been doing and very glad to see that stuff. He looked good with the first bunch (on special teams). We’ve increased his workload an awful lot and he’s doing a great job with it.

you don't use someone heavily on special teams that you intend to have playing a significant role elsewhere...esp. someone that has been around as long as davis or coming off an injury...like davis.

again, that's reality.

Not sure Davis is a starter week 1 under any circumstances. Or at all if the rotations and situational things work out.

My thought is that the more he plays this year, the more comfortable everyone becomes. If, as some of us believe, he makes it through the year. Our team is the better for it. If however he does not make it through the year. There will be great sorrow.

Beason is the starting MLB. We don't need to see Kuechly at MLB because he won't play it. They want Phillips to get experience against the 1s in case of injury, so he will be there no matter what.

If Davis is healthy he'll start over Anderson, no question. The starting line-up for the season will be Kuechly - Beason - Davis if all are healthy.

This forum declaring Davis is situational has nothing to do with reality.

While I do agree that if Davis is 100% he is a far better player than Anderson its a big "If" also Kuechly is a monster he will pick up whatever position he plays, If the kid stays healthy he will go down as the best ever panthers LB.

Hope you like those likey things. Didn't mean to.

If I am correct. Keuchly plays the same position as Davis. So if Davis is going to start, where is Keek gonna play? Oh I see. Keek, Beast, and Davis. No. I don't like it. Thomas has to be a back up, rotational and situational player. Until Anderson leaves or is injured, Davis is not a starter.

But technically, you can almost say that about all the LB. Rivera wants them to be damm near interchangable.
