That was a f*cking awful performance by the Canes. Too many turnovers, bad passes, poor defense. Ward didn't play good again. We played so well in the playoffs and just hit a brick wall. They looked dejected during 2nd intermission. There seems to be a coaching problem. Well, least there's always next season...

FYI Brindy is a center and that is not a position we are deep at....Staal, Cullen, Brindy.....thats our centers.....Jokinen is good enough to put there but would be better on the wing, Ruutu can also play center but really sucks at faceoffs....

Brindy is not the player he once was but fits his role on the energy or checking lines very well.....Gets the younger forwards playing better

The Pens put 50 shots on Ward. Not much more he could have done. The defense kept breaking down time and time again, do you seriously expect him to make every save or do you just not pay attention to how poorly the defense has played? Hows about if the Panthers D gave up 40 points, would you expect Smitty and Williams to win by themselves??

However you are dead on about the coaching. Maurice sucks and when the $hit gets deep, he always goes to the dump and run. Apparently he has no idea that making your team play physical would be beneficial as well.

I just meant THIS SEASON...the big boys failed, ans that sucks. Of course they had a great season, so did the Panthers.

Honestly I dont think the Coaching is th main reson to blame....The dump and run is a good tactic when you want to be physical. The problem is we are not dumping and running at good times or just not physical enough.....i.e. no high forward....If our seson shall come to an end i hope they bring back mo and co and make a few player acqusitions and we could be Stanley Cup Champions....

I caught all that. I'm just tired of hearing you blame Ward at every turn as if the goalie can stop everything thrown at them. He has done just about as much as he can given the way they have played in front of him. Every single time we've lost, one of the first things you've mentioned is "Ward didnt play well, blah blah blah". He kept us in it for awhile tonight, we just didn't feel the need to wake the hell up and give him any support.
