He lost a 2 year battle with cancer and is dead at age 44. I vaguely remembered the story of him having to have his leg amputated two years ago after breaking it during a fall because of a cyst. He was a Hall of Fame college basketball player, an underrated NBA player (spending a lot of his tenure with a terrible Kings franchise), and a talented musician off the court. May he rest in peace.

RIP Wayman.

He was the biggest bust that the Pacers EVER drafted! Pacers picked him their #1 draft pic, 1st overall if I remember right. He showed up overweight, no work ethic and just took the money and didn't do anything with his talent.

(I'm still sorry he's gone.)

I saw that special on TV about his amputation. Real sad story for such a talented athlete and jazz player. 44 is still very young in the game. RIP to Wayman.

Tisdale was taken #2 overall. He put up 15 and 7 a game for the Pacers in his first three seasons and went on to be one of the only guys who actually gave a crap and produced on those awful Sacramento Kings teams in the early 90's.....how can you compare that to some of the other busts the Pacers have drafted in the first round?? Worse than some injury prone guy named Steve Stipanovic that was drafted #2 overall and only played 5 years? Worse than Fred Jones who has played for five teams in seven years? Worse than former Bobcats "star" Primoz Brezec? Worse than Scott Haskin who only played one season in the NBA?

    • Damn Logan Jones had a good day too. Was high on him coming in as he anchored that top Iowa line and is a fire plug inside. He's gonna be 25 to start the season so maybe he slips into the 4th but I doubt it, even if C isn't a premium position. His play on the field was top notch and the combine boosted it again. Arm length is about the only knock. But guy is plug and play at C.   This is a loaded class at C. Need to grab one.
    • Bryce will be permanently replaced by a draft pick. There's not another Sam Darnold out there to save us. Tepper is going to see this throw because he dumped Mayfield and Darnold too soon. He's going to give it 1 more year before he will sign off on dumping another 1st round pick qb. Thats the cold hard truth of it. It doesn't mean we can't get younger and much better at the backup position.
    • Maybe I should have used a different word and saved that for me. I want someone that has something impressive about them.  Someone that has potential to supplant a guy who is producing 25th best type of numbers. 22nd, 27th all that bottom third neighborhood.  I don’t know where that will come from it just can’t be from even a 4th round pick this year IMO. Unless FA is crazy productive.    I’ll give Bryce a better than bottom rating for his playoff game. Well above low twenties. But at least half of his games were bottom third level. Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of them were.
