Why is Jordan Gross our highest paid player?

Leader how? What has he led? I dont dispute he's a likeable guy in the locker room and a "company man" for the Panthers, but that doesnt necessarily equate to leadership.

Like it or not, he is a leader. He has been a very good player for the Panthers for a long time, and I promise you that players look up to him.

That said, his best playing days are behind him.

Much like DWill.

Zod called Gross the 'leader' because when doing the weekly Google Plus+ chats with James Anderson, he directly asked both Anderson and Byron Bell who the 'leader' of the team was, who they looked to when they were needing someone to step up and they both said Gross and Smith.

fwiw.

He shouldn't be our highest paid player. He sucks, and most the line needs to be replaced.

Whats sad is, Im the only one on this board with the heart to call him out. I havent seen any threads about his play this year outside of mine. There have been people in the past to point out his suckitude, but they get supressed FAST. Dudes are content to let him suck and cash checks, because they like him so much.

Now contrast that with how many threads our QB gets weekly (that call him out INDIVIDUALLY) about what he needs to work on or isnt doing.

It's how salaries work in pro sports. The Panthers have had players who made a little bit of money season after season, only to see their salary shoot up one particular season when other players' salaries are low and they have room.

Jon Beason is scheduled to make over 4 million more next season.
