The Panthers won the game, coaching lost it. I know we had a few bad plays and a few players make mad decisions but not every team is perfect. Ron Rivera had too many chances to win that game and he did the wrong thing.

The players played with heart.

RR does not win or lose this game. The reason he had to make the correct call to punt was..........our QB fumbled.

his punter and coverage team executed their jobs perfectly and then..........a DB sh*ts his pants.

He made the correct call. I would hate to see this board had he gone for it and not gotten it.

Rivera has legitimately the worst clock management of any coach I've ever seen. I keep thinking the last one is going to be a teaching lesson for him and it won't happen again but it keeps happening every time. I don't get it

Given the same circumstances, I believe 9 of 10 coaches would do the same thing. With the ball on the 44, knowing you have a very young team, playing against what everyone has to acknowledge is a top flight opposing defense who will know exactly what's coming if you line up to go for it, then I think chancing the fourth down conversion is simply too risky. If you fail, ATL is 20 to 25 yards away from field goal range. Any responsible coach is going to punt it away under those circumstances, and let his defense - which had been playing like men on a mission all day long - keep the Falcons away from the end zone. In fact, had it not been for the boneheaded play by Nakamura that allowed the birds to get to mid-field, it was working out just as Rivera had planned. He may have made mistakes in this game (also debatable), but I don't believe that decision was one of them.

The team lost the game. The team includes the players and coaches......

Fumbles, blown coverage, and coaching decisions all factor into the teams performance......it is not an either or thing

Personal changes are the reason we lost. Not excepting keek is better at tackling than Beason and not excepting Naka was a bad match up on White. So Yea players lost the game as well but only because adjustments were not made.
