Official X Factor 2012 Thread

I concede. A month or so in now, someone was gonna have to make this eventually. I know I'm not the only poor soul out there who still watches these shows.

Anyways, first live performances were tonight. My four favorites were...

  • IMO, Emblem 3 was pretty solid. I think they have a shot at making it really far.

  • Lyric 145 is very entertaining, hopefully they stick around too.

  • Carly Rose just destroys it every time, incredibly consistent.

  • And then the newly named 5th Harmony is very solid too. That first girl that went tonight (Camilla?) is incredible.

Arin Ray and Cece Frey are probably in trouble tomorrow.

Anyone else wanna weigh in? (I'm looking at you, DPantherman.)

Honestly, I feel like X-Factor is too gimmicky and horribly produced.

Also, why is Khloe Kardishian hosting? She really isn't selling excitement and you can tell she is reading.

The singers really arn't that great.

I say in the next few years, X Factor will be a failure.

I think what sets X Factor apart from, say, American Idol and The Voice is that they are looking for the full package instead of just big voices.

For instance, someone like Emblem 3 could be a legitimate mainstream radio success. Or Carly Rose Sonenclare, who is incredibly talented, could be selling tons of records and having fair radio success too. And even that girl band, looking at the success that Simon had with the UK's One Direction.

There are chances, they just have to play it right. LA Reid and Simon are executives of huge record companies. They can make it happen if they find the right people.

I do agree that it's really gimmicky and Khloe Kardash sucks. If they could pull their sh*t together, it could be a real success.
