yea, we know. he said otah is new to football, because he didnt start playing til his senior year in highschool. he is still learning basic fundamentals of the game. no-where to go but up with him.

Clady played defensive tackle in high school, and was slated to do so at BSU until the coaches got the brilliant idea of switching him over. So Clady's also green at the position, as well.

That being said, it's a real silly thing to argue about, because both Clady and Otah obviously have natural talent and are tremendous athletes, and they would fit on a football field eventually, no matter what.

Ryan Clady is starting and having a pro-bowl season at LT. Otah is a RT and while having a good year, isn't anywhere near as good as Clady's. LT > RT. In fact even if Otah had the same number of sacks allowed and success rate in the running game playing at LT, Clady would still be better. If Otah moves over to the blind side then we'll see, but it's not even close.

Overall--CLADY>OTAH

Run Blocking--OTAH>>CLADY

Pass Blocking --CLADY>>OTAH

Potential OTAH=CLADY

you were doing good until that last part...

why does Otah have more potential than Clady?...

they're both rookies that are still learning....

edit: nevermind...i misread your post...

my bad...

clady may be the best right now but otah is pretty new to football. once he learns more and gets more experience he is going to be elite at RT or LT.

Clady came into Boise St. as a defensive tackle and never played offensive line all through high school. He left college after his Jr. season and this is only his 4th year playing the LT position.

Now that is just homeristic and ignorant. Look, both are quality Tackles that have completely different roles on their respective teams, as well as having different strengths and weaknesses. Clady, no doubt, is the better pass blocker, but just the same, Otah is clearly the better run blocker (although neither is bad at the other). And for our team's philosophy, the run blocker plays a more important role, so is the more valuable skill set.
