2009 is Fox's "Put up or Shut up" season....

Is it John Fox's last season with the Panthers?

With Marty, Holmgren, Shanahan, Gruden, Billeck, and Cowher all sitting on the sidelines, this season is a "ALL IN" for Fox.

Thats a hell of a Super Bowl winning Coach bank to draw from.

With the Panthers never having back to back winning seasons and the huge let down in the playoffs Fox knows he needs to deliver.

One thing is certain, If I was wanting to make a coaching change, 2010 would be the year to do it.

...We will see.

I don't think so. If injuries cause the season to crumble I think he'll be here. If we do get a new coach it will have to be someone who doesn't overhaul the whole system. We've got the talent to go far for a while. I like Marty and Billeck, I think Cowher is a bit overrated. However I'd like Fox to take us to a couple superbowls so I'd be happy to stick with him.

well if we go super bad like 6-10 or less, fox is on the first bus out of town

if we do 7-9 to 10-6 and miss the playoffs i think one more seson better win

If we make the playoffs and do poorly again....one more season better win

If we win the super bowl.....well i guess he is going to be around for a few more years

Fox is the ideal coach for this team and managment loves him. I don't see fox leaving until the team puts together two crummy seasons in a row.

I'd venture a guess that he is safe this year even if the team finished with 3-4 wins. Due to the fact that he turned the 1-15 team around in a two year span.

    • Jeremy Fowler draft intel on the Panthers: “Carolina was high on Proctor. If he somehow slipped to 19, he was a viable option.” “Caleb Lomu was on the Panthers short list too.” “Panthers weren’t totally comfortable with Stowers there at 49.”   https://x.com/panthersontap/status/2049827264972353727?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
