johnson better than rice?

Difficult to compare players from different generations.

Megatron is a beast for sure, but in this league a defender can't topuch a WR without getting flagged. Jerry Rice played with a completely different set of rules.

Eric Dickerson is an enigma. Difficult to figure out. He had 12 seasons and only played a full 16 games in 5 of those seasons, 3 of those within his first 5 years in the league. His 2105 yard season was his second year in the league and aside from 2 other seasons when he rushed for over 1600 and 1800 yards, the remainder of his career was plagued by injuries and rather unimpressive stats.

As great as he was, I'd take a RB who could string together a healthy 5-6 seasons and get between 700-1000 yards in each of those over an Eric Dickerson, who seemingly had huge flashes of brilliance but they were often separated by lengthy periods of just being ordinary.

I still have to go with Rice. If he were in today's NFL, what would his numbers be?

AP might be the GOAT, but again, in Dickerson's generation, every defense targeted the run. Today every defense targets the pass.

I would say AP for sure, based on his toughness and consistency.

    • I wouldn't trade Svech for the best FA on the market, Marner included. Matter of fact, someone would be giving up a top line scorer and a couple draft picks for Svech.  Look at it this way, if Svech was a UFA in a couple days, what does his contract look like? That'll tell you everything you need to know.
    • I know it a real homer take but Im not sure Id slam dunk take that list over Smitty.  Smith just played a different way, he had an ability to just take over a game as a matter of will.  The catch against the giants where he caught it and took a helmet that broke his arm mid air, the games against DeAngelo Hall, 05 Bears playoffs, Ice Up Son, the revenge game against us. Those other WRs may have better stat books but love him or hate him, good guy or bad, Smith just played a different game and when he did look out.
    • Absolutely would have to be anther young scorer with either ELC time or a long term contract...    Could see maybe Kyrou or Robertson.... But I really just dont see him being traded you dont trade your leading post season scorer on a long term deal when he isn't even in his prime yet..   not to mention unless you get more than one of those guys at best it would be lateral with unknown team chemistry.
