Take a look over Hurney's prior drafts and free agency decisions for the past five years or so.

He should have been let go sooner.

And to be clear, midseason GM firings aren't as big a deal as midseason coach firings because most of their work is done in the offseason. Firing him after week six and hiring Accorsi shortly thereafter meant Accorsi had plenty of time to do his work,

Hurney made his bed long ago, he knew it was coming. It should have happened back in 2011. As for Beane, the dude handled traveling arrangements.... I don't want that Motherf*cker anywhere near the GM position.

How about this? Do you want a first year medical student doing your open heart surgery if there is a skilled and experienced surgeon available? Whether you know anything about said student is not terribly important. The likelihood that he could do a better job than a trained and experienced surgeon is very, very low.
