We have this conversation every year.

Every year we wind up ok.

I don't see this season as an exception.

ok? we are ok? in the last four years we have established ourselves as one of the worst nfl teams. we rank with in the area of jacksonville, buffalo, oakland, browns and the rams.

I thought I remembered that right.. No way I'd trust DWill over Stewart..

Don't jump the gun cowboy, Stewart first time seeing a preseason game was last year meaning he stays hurt during the off-season and is protected because he doesn't get the bulk of the snaps.

he has a bad toe and the first chance he got to prove himself didn't go well since running on a bad toe causes you to run awkwardly. Just saying.

I have to say you sound like you're jumping the gun a bit.. since preseason games don't really prove anything, and he's been stellar every year except this year (for obvious Chud reasons)... While DWill struggled most of last year..

You can't really point to Stewart not being able to handle the load since he has effectively done so every time DWill has went on IR.. and you can't say DWill is a better option since he gets hurt so often.

What we can do is speculate, and feel free to do that as much as you wish. I'm just sayin I would feel fairly confident had we let DWill walk and let Stew/Tolbert run the show and save us money to spend elsewhere..

here's whats ging to happen, expect Gross, Williams and Beason to restructure, probably with more guaranteed money but spread out further.

This isn't the first time that somethings like this has happened, I think the 3rd year before we lost Peppers we restructured his deal to save us $11m n that years cap in exchanged for guaranteeing more money in the long run, expect more of the same this offseason.

That btw was also the same restructure that made him super expensive to use the franchise tag on

I like the fact that Rivera in so many words during the huddle said Williams is getting ready for next season and basically that he can help the team. Right now, that's one of Rivieras bright spots.

Doc I agree with you, if those three restructure their deals then they can save at least 9 mill, I think.

    • Malcom Spence is the best player remaining, hope he’s there.
    • The era that you played in, and, more importantly, who you played with actually matters. Honestly, that's why these issues will be debated forever, as it's just difficult to say that this person or that person is better when you're discussing the passage of time. As for me, after Rice, Moss and maybe Megatron and T.O., there's probably a dozen or so guys that can be argued about to the cows come home. Personally, I'm not putting Fitz, Harrison, Johnson, Evans, or especially D-Hop, Jefferson, Chase or Hill definitely in front of Smitty (and Colston ain't even in the discussion). Context and all that stuff actually matters. Things like the triple crown matter.
    • Some of those guys? Yeah honestly you can.  I would 100% take Steve Smith over Larry Fitzgerald, Harrison, even Mike Evans. He is 100% a better player than those guys in his prime. If you look at the numbers Smith is historically under targeted in comparison to his contemporaries. He was only targeted 150 times or more only once in his career. Fitzgerald for example was targeted well above that 9 different seasons. Had Smith played with Peyton, Brady, Greatest Show on Turf, or even with Warner in Arizona he would broken records. His 2008 season was ridiculous accumulating 1400 yards in 13 games on less than 80 receptions. All time he also lost a season due to injury in 04, barely played WR as a rookie. Got robbed of 1k season with Clausen. Thats easily another 1800yds minimum that should have been tacked on to his #s. The only guys I’d say for certain are better than Smith are Rice, Moss, TO, Megatron, Julio Jones, Antonio Brown.
