Jonathan Stewart, who still hasn't practiced this offseason due to a mysterious ankle issue, has no known timetable for return.

We're guessing the team considers him day to day, but it wouldn't surprise to find out later that Stewart had ankle surgery this spring. The lost reps have gone to DeCori Birmingham, and rookies Mike Goodson and Jamall Lee.

It says nothing about him having surgery. It just talked about how he missed part of camp last year because of his toe surgery, and talked about how good he could be if he actually gets to practice (since he hasn't been able to practice so far in summer school because of his ankle injury)

I hope Stewart doesn't continue to suffer from lingering injuries. I'm starting to see why the Panthers drafted a running back so high now, not saying Stewart is going to be hurt this year, but it's nice to have some insurance.

It's nice to see Favorite is getting a lot of reps, maybe he is realizing this is his last chance to play football and is possibly living up to his talent coming out of high school where he was the number one rated DT prospect.

stewart injured his ankle in 2005 and has been suffering ever since.

keep in mind that suffering for him means...

he set college school records in 2006 and 2007, and set panther franchise records in 2008.

it's unfortunate that he hasn't been 100% since his freshman season. God only knows what he's capable of if he was ever completely healthy for a full season.

blah....don't do that again.

not news.

someone says they wouldn't be surprised at some point to find out that someone is going to have a surgery. you panicked and send others in a panic without giving them the ability to figure out what the crap you are talking about? next time just wait until you can for a complete thought. just because you can post from your frikkin phone doesn't mean you have to.

    • Jarvis and Aho like scoring vs the flyers. This is the get right series for this line.
    • I like it, but really our future hinges on three very important and expensive things we really can't predict right now. 1. Bryce. He either is or isn't going to be the guy. We won't know until this coming season ends. If he puts us in the 10 wins category and continues to improve (that TD-INT ratio is the big tell there), he won't be cheap. But I don't think he's going to be getting anywhere near the bank breaking amounts, unless we see some kind of Drew Brees-type emergence. 2. Can Icky even come back to play? At all. LT, guard or RT. I sure hope he can and I'd love to see him at guard. If he can come back, though, he's looking at vet pay at whatever position. $10 million a year is probably what we're looking at if he has to change position, if he can still play LT then it gets very steep. We might end up looking at letting him hit to open market. 3. Taylor Moton. Love the guy and he's been the picture perfect Right Tackle. The question is will he want to keep doing this? He's getting long in the tooth but he's still a hell of a scrapper out there. If he wants to go and we really want him to stay, well that costs big bucks. While RTs are supposedly easier to replace than LTs, it's still a tough one for us.  And we won't know anything on this until after training camp and then season end. Dan Morgan's got a lot of stuff in the "still to be decided" bin on his desk.
