The Turners and Cleveland? Perhaps not

We've all heard the speculation surrounding Norv and especially with his son following Chud to Cleveland. We know that Norv is on vacation Ian Hawaii and is contemplating his next move very carefully. As reported by ESPN his potential landing spots are numerous. I is believed by many that the younger Turner is going with Chud to Cleveland, although I have not heard this from the team or anything in black and white even guaranteeing as much. It's just believed...

Let me propose an off the wall scenario though. It may sound crazy, but this could happen.

Say this... Say they (Cleveland) bring Norv in for an interview or what not... What's to say that he takes the job? (Here it comes) what if* he decides that his very own son should have the job? I mean... The younger Turner has been an assistant at various places for years... What if his dad decides that he doesn't want to be in Cleveland because it could actually hinder his sons career? I know it sounds crazy... And it could end up going the opposite way with Turner mentoring his son right there in the booth for a couple of years before the younger Turner is "ready"

My questions are:

Is the younger Turner really going to Cleveland?

Could we hire him as our OC? And possibly get Norv as well?

I've been a proponent of hiring Norv as OC since week 6 when the speculation of Norv being fired arose. I started this whole push for Norv way back then as most of you will remember. <---- that's not important, but I really think that NoRv would be a great fit here...

It seems as though at least through the initial reports that this wont be an option for us... But I sure do wish that we could get Norv obviously.

Ay ties between Gettleman and Norv? I know there's lots of ties with Ron/Norv/Chud

I'm just as curious and as anxious as anyone here to get some finality to all of this... Only because I'm not a very patient person. I just figure the sooner the better...

So what do you guys think about what I threw out there? I say very slim chance we get Norv.... But I sure do want him.

Anyways, that's all I got for now

Has the young Turner ever called plays before? I don't even know that he's been a position coach, just a quality control coach. I don't think anybody is going ot make him a coordinator right now.

I don't think he's ready yet... But he's been an Assistant to Chud for years, so he could be. At what point would he be ready? This is something that I admittedly lack the knowledge on. Common sense says that someone will give him a shot at OC eventually... Isn't that how every coach gets his start?

I just really want Norv

Young Turner is Chudz right hand man... Putting him as the OC is too much too soon. I see Young Turner definitely going to Cleveland. As for Norv I have no idea because Chud himself said "If I don't feel comfortable letting someone else call the plays... I'll call the plays" honestly I don't see Norv going to Cleveland just to sit there so.....

A lot of NFL offensive coordinators will have had time calling plays before as a college coordinator or head coach. Otherwise, they are usually respected position coaches that are considered up and comers (Mike McCoy) or long time guys that have a lot of time in the pro game. I just don't know that Turner has anything along those lines, so it would be an odd hire for somebody.

    • USA vs Germany today 3:10pm. Mens schedule:
    • It is like when you go to da buffet at da Golden Corral and dey have all dis food and you get the same thing every time.   There is probably something you would like more, but you go to da same ol racks and get da same ol food every time.  Not sure why I am writing in trailer park dialect, but hey, watcha gonna dooo.
    • If we don't go OT, we will regret it.  What bothers me?  Are we going to get a starting-caliber OT at 19?  I think the draft is solid at OT, and the more I read up and watch video, the more I watch Lomu, the more I want him.   I see Freeling as a RT who needs some work in run blocking (since we need to run first, maybe not a good fit) and I see Proctor ending up as a Guard.  After Lomu (assuming Mouigia and fanu are gone), I think we wait until round 2.  In round 2, there are about 3-4 I like (Zuhn--good pass blocker and VERY underrated right now; Tiernan is a very good pass blocker as is Miller from Clemson, but both are not good in the run game.  Max Ixxxxx from Ariz St is impressive too---technically, there is not a of difference in these second tier guys--good in pass pro, need work in the run game.   If we wait until round 2 for an OT, we probably need to sign Nijman and start him early.   I almost think this is what we should do if Lomu is gone.  There is a big dropoff after him, imo, and I think we'd get better value if a stud ILB or edge is there.  Someone like TJ Parker Clemson makes sense. If Lomu is gone, trading back might be the play.
