Why so many JR haters?

I just don't get it, what has this guy done that's been so horrible for this franchise. So many people on this forum bash him on a consistent basis.

I am so greatful to have such a great owner! I have been a fan since the inaugural season, for most of our history our fan base regarded him as one of the best owners in the league. Now it seems everyone loves to belittle the man who brought us Panther football.

Maybe our fan base is just too young to now all the good things he has done for our team. Oh and c'mon don't give me the fuggin pie chart crap. Get over it!

So really what's the deal?

4 winning seasons.

And that makes him a horrible owner? Jerry is passionate for the fan and players of the Carolina's. Did you not here what he did for the Olsen family? What about fans that are upset and try to contact him? He takes time out of his day to reach out to them. Are there any other owners in the league that make them as accessible as Richardson? Not that I know of.

the PR part of owning a team is the easiest part. constructing a winning franchise, knowing when to just write checks and stop thinking you are Ozzie Newsome and you really know talent when you don't is where the rubber meets the road.

JR is a good guy. no question.

    • Right and I think we can have a conversation about that. But even with the scheme he should still be able to muster more than 1.5 sacks right? I mean DJ Johnson played in Evero's scheme too but that didn't stop us from calling him a bust. Scourton didn't seem to have trouble flashing. There can be different things true at one time.
    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
