Panthers' quicker pressure defense sitting well with Lewis

I think I will trade Peppers 17 million dollar commitment for 2-4million dollar corners, a 4 million dollar stud TE, and a 5 million dollar center.

Just speak it and it will be. My only problem is though is that I need a 17 million dollar defensive end who can account for the pressure that makes the rest of my defense work and since my (John Fox) entire approach to the game of football is to have strong defense first and play conservatively on offense to manage clock and make it easier for my stud defense to have a chance I just cannot do it. Is it possible? maybe. I have never seen a 1 for four trade in the NFL that ever worked though. Does it make the team better? Not at all.

Johnson played well last year. Hope he gets a chance to beat out Brayton.

In my eyes, Peppers, with a rotation of Johnson and Everett could end up being a very dominating pass rush. But maybe I'm just being a homer.

As for your comment, the loss of Peppers would be far greater than many people think, including you. You obviously feel that we have a replacement for him on the roster already. One who will not only produce like Peppers, but also the veteran experience he has. Oh, wait, we don't have that!

Don't know how that I'm a fan is affecting how I'm looking at the situation.

see- this is where you and others get me wrong. I want peppers playing for us.

i want to see what him and brown can do..

but right now peppers is standing outside the stadium flipping us ALL the bird..

and i will give him the respect he deserves when he earns it.

his contract is up, he is not a panther so i owe him nothing as a fan, if he owes me nothing as a player......

those are the facts you are leaving out... tag not signed..= not playing in a panther uniform..
Well, I guess if that is the drum you wish to beat until he is in a uniform, beat away...beat away.

Not much to stand on though. At this point in the off-season, he has ZERO reasons to sign the tag. Why would he want to be here in voluntery mini camp? He doesn't.

As far as I'm concerned, I have ZERO problems with him not signing his tag til the 2nd week of pre-season. I hope he'll be signed, and here by the beginning of training camp, but it's not necessary.

You are correct, but do you honestly see him sitting out the season? I guess as much as you hate him, you prolly do see him doing that.

i honestly do not hate peppers, you have seen his jersey in my closet, his sign 18x20 in my house, and my peppers mcfarlane (when it shows back up)

i just hold him to a different standard, so does the owner. why am i the bad guy?

So what you are saying, is until he comes back and plays for us, you will continue to beat your hate drum. Okay, I'll leave you to beat your drum.

That is fine, now answer the question I asked. Do you honestly think he'll sit out the season?

i am not sayin trade pep, i am just saying the man can not justify falling off the face of the earth during a game when the team has and will invest so much in him.

thats all. its not a hard thing to understand.

I think there is a good possibility. At this point there is a 60% chance considering the amount of time that has passed without him signing the tender

+ not comenting on the situation. (that says he is disgruntle on some level- maybe he is mad because he wanted out of carolina and was tagged because HE FELT he payed his dues, just like many of you- how ironic)

    • I really appreciate Bill explaining his methodology here because that gives interested parties a chance to try and recreate the results themselves. I believe that it's safe to assume that despite emphasis being placed on WRs that Chuba Hubbard is one of the Panthers' top-5 weapons. Considering targets, yardage, receptions, etc... Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette are also on the list. Jalen Coker's success might have snuck him in there as well. I can't draw a conclusion on who #5 is though. I've narrowed it down to Diontae Johnson, David Moore, Ja'Tavion Sanders, and possibly Rico Dowdle if they're taking into account his production for the Cowboys in 2024.
    • Unfortunately business is business especially when there are large sums of money on the table. Goes the same for player and ownership. Does not make it right either way.  Why would he not want to play for the niners? Closer to home with a team that has a chance of delivering a SB trophy.
    • I don’t know if it’s him bad mouthing his former situation in public or my pettiness but either way I’m not a fan. Dude was on playoff teams getting paid millions to entertain. I’m not better that because and I am better than that. You don’t bad mouth your former employer in public. Esp after getting over paid and two, poor little Russian baby didn’t get the playing spot he wanted. Rod had him exactly where is was supposed to be.  He had a mean lip check and did defend our players. Specifically the devils game around Christmas where is our Haula on his ass. Cool. Thank you. But don’t talk poo about us. Because it make you look like Haula.    “need to get as far away as possible”. fug off. Didn’t see Burnsy bad mouthing and his play dropped off too.    sorry, but Orlov doesn’t get a pass from me. See you twice a year…
