Ryan Leaf sent to Jail

I don't have much sympathy for drug addicts. No one forced him to use drugs and there's plenty of information available on the dangers of drug use and the resulting addictions. Not to mention he received a university education and had lots of wealth so he should be even more informed than the rest of the general public.

We have to stop having sympathy for the devil. The guy made a fortune and now he's burdening tax payers. What a worthless cretin.

Wow, I cannot believe how much was done to keep ths man out of jail. If he was black, you know he would have been in jail a long time ago. Rehab wouldn't even have been an option with him after fail not long after receiving a ten year probation. Not even trying to kid about this one.

Lawrence Taylor had more legal problems than Leaf, and never spent a day in prison. Jamarcus Russell recently got busted and the DA declined to prosecute.

When it comes to former star athletes (or actors, musicians etc...) most of them get treated better than the average citizen regardless of race.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
