KPs Players to Watch

I just edited this post for fun to see where guys went. A bunch of guys went higher than I expected. All edits in bold.

I'm not big on mocking picks until the week of the draft when all the information is out there. I do have a list of player I'll take special interest in as this draft season kicks off with the Senior Bowl.

Manti Te'o (not really for Panthers but obvious other reasons) - 2nd Round, 38th overall

Johnathan Hankins DT Ohio St. - 2nd Round, 49th overall

Eric Fisher OT Central Michigan - 1st Round, 1st overall

Eric Reid S LSU - 1st Round, 18th overall

Ezekiel Ansah DE BYU - 1st Round, 5th overall

DJ Fluker OT Alabama - 1st Round, 11th overall

Margus Hunt DE SMU - 2nd Round, 53rd overall

DJ Swearinger S South Carolina - 2nd Round, 57th overall

John Jenkins DT Georgia - 3rd Round, 82nd overall

Ricky Wagner OT Wisconsin - 5th Round, 168th overall

Desmond Trufant CB Washington - 1st Round, 22nd overall

Robert Lester S Alabama - Undrafted Free Agent

Montori Hughes DT Tenn-Martin - 5th Round, 139th overall

Kenjon Barner RB Oregon - 6th Round, 182nd overall, Drafted by the Panthers!

Brad Wing P LSU - Undrafted Free Agent

These are guys I want to follow. Some of them I know well. Others I never heard of but they intrigue me.

Not a bad list. I think some of these guys have been written off already due to our draft position but it is a good list except for the kicker guy. I don't really bother looking at them as it is a waste of time. I could go into a lengthy dissertation regarding this but it would be a waste of time and give undue insight to kickers in the draft.

    • I think we pick it up and then someone else ends up emerging as the QB next year and we end up cutting him in year 5 and eating it.  That would be the most on brand thing to happen.
    • Evero has his faults, but even in that loss, the team only gave up 20 points. Your post gets to the heart of the matter. We are not a talented team on defense at this time. Some of our younger guys may develop w/more playing time, but for now we have no impact players at LB or EDGE. We could really use a ball-hawking S on the back end as well. We have exactly two players that have to be accounted for on every play, D. Brown, and J.Horn. Mike Jackson has been solid. The other starters would probably be backups on most the upper echelon NFL teams. We really can't expect this team to a Top 10 defense with such a lack of talent. All things considered I've been somewhat impressed with how much better they have played this year.   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-points-per-game   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-average-team-passer-rating We are in the top 15 in terms of points allowed per game (22.6) and top 12 in defensive passer rating (88.9). And, we are doing this without a formidable PASS RUSH. Even our rushing defense has improved. We are #16 in rushing yards allowed per game (116) compared to 179 per game last season. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-rushing-yards-per-game I wouldn't cry if Evero moved on after the season, but his defense isn't the biggest worry for our team.
    • The funny part is she looks older and not in a good way...
