I would love it. I think they should change back to the Hornets and at the opening game of next season they should bring back as many Charlotte Hornets players as possible for some kind of ceremony.

I agree!!!!!

I know MJ will make it happen. It'll happen before the Draft.

I can't wait to see our Hornets name and hat at the Draft Lottery and on Draft night!

Will be a short lived buzz (pun intended) if they do not upgrade the level of talent/play on this team.

The only thing that matters is winning.

The team name and colors are meaningless.

i agree to some extent- if we make the name change and have another offseason with no name FAs and a miss in the draft pick dept- we will still be a joke of the league..

but if we get McLemore or Len and another PF/C and win maybe .500 of our games.. it will be a huge story

I think a lot has to do with the name. Maybe I'm just thinking over my head but the Bobcats have been so bad. No one wants to come play for the "BOBCATS". This name attracts little attention.

Changing the name back to the HORNETS, it brings fresh winning air back. Even though we'll still be with the same roster, more stars may want to come play for this organization. Bc it's the CHARLOTTE HORNETS and owned by MJ.

I agree that a rebrand to Hornets might help wipe off some off the stink that is the 'Bobcats' name. But won't mean a thing without solid talent. If we could pull off a draft day hit, with both are current number ones, and maybe sign a decent big and become a competitive team, you might see Time Warner fillup and rival the Hive.

If we can rebrand the Hornets, everyone will forget about the BOBCATS.

Sure it's the same players, but a new IDENTITY, logo, colors, etc. Its all about the CULTURE and history of the HORNETS. Players will want to come play here bc of the history behind it.

I'm setting my hopes higher than some of y'all, but I would not rule out a CP3 to Charlotte. Wouldn't it be nice for him to have the ability to come play for his home state and his sponsor MJ? Wouldn't he look amazing again in the HORNETS unis, just this time in Charlotte.

The name CHARLOTTE HORNETS will be able to attract a lot of players. Not just that it'll be one of the best selling accessories/gears.

I'm as Pro Hornets as anyone here. In fact I am going to wear my Charlotte Hornets hat every time I leave the house until it is announced that the B*****s are going to be the Hornets again. That said, CP3 is not coming to play here. He bullied his way out of New Orleans because he is in the new school of superstars joining big market teams together.

That said I do believe that changing the name will re energize the franchise a little bit. After all what does the name Bobcats make you think of? To me it's orange vomit colored uniforms and embarrassingly bad basketball.

    • The good news is that we are pretty uniquely well established to address all of our needs this season. We have $14m real cap space, and something like $40m in trade deadline cap space. Not sure exactly how that works out. But, we have the room to absorb any bad contracts. With recent rule changes regarding retention, that went into effect this season, we now have a huge advantage in the trade market.  On top of that, while we do have obvious needs, we also have a glut of talent in certain areas that we struggle to find ice time for. We are over-stocked on scrappy talented lil-guys, strong defensively sound 3rd liners and shutdown left shot dmen. Whether it's a package or separate deals, idk. But, one of each from Stank/Blake/Nads, Erob/Carrier/KK/Jank, and Walker/Nystrom; throw in some 1st round picks (and frankly any other prospects they want) and we should be able to come out with a 1b to pair with Bussi and either a 2c with size or a 2c and size.   TL/DR We got the money, you got the stuff?
    • I don’t  think 6’4 was ever considered small or undersized. Baby hands tho, yes that was his thing That’s an interesting idea, like an optical illusion? Sounds like you have personal experience with this!
    • in the 25' draft the Carolina Panthers had hired Brandt Tillis someone who actually understood how to build a successful team & build through the draft .  this team was yes mismanaged for years prior to Brandt Tillis joining the team in 25' & rarely done anything right in the draft outside occaionaly getting lucky on an UDFA such as Jalen Coker who's dad coincidentally happened to be a huge Carolina Panthers fan, hint hint  ...just saying
