Cam making the Super Bowl rounds: Rome, SVP, PFT etc.

So the media makes a big deal about Cam wearing a towel on his head, then tries to act like he's all matured in three months.

Its the media bro, they pick the stories and spin all events that follow (aka: winning or losing) so they circle back to their original stories.

When we win, we'll see footage of Cam giving high fives to teammates and looking at Kodak's on the sideline with coaches. When we lose we'll see him with a towel on his head. He does all of this in a winning or losing situation, he's a professional, but the media needs to make money off him and he really doesn't give them much to work with.

The question is: Does he watch the games, or just reading off of a stat sheet?

Unless Rome is a cordial host, don't expect much from Cam. Cause if Rome goes after him with stereotypes and media BS (unless he wants Cam to defend himself), and Cam is calm, gracious and diplomatic, there will be no news.

Now if he tries to defend himself, he can say something that the media can/will use against him for a 24hr cycle before the Superbowl. Good thing today is Friday. But I don't think he would. LOL.

Here's hoping for a good football interview, and not some character defense BS.

We'll see?

I like Rome, I just don't get to hear him as much anymore... He rarely ever goes for the low blow like that in an interview. The only recent one that comes to mind is his interview with David Stern sometime last year that pissed off Stern so bad he asked if Rome "still beats his wife," lol.

Rome has admitted himself that the whole Chris Everett thing was a mistake and he learned from it. Sure, some people don't like him because he comes off as a bro, smug, and smarmy, but I think he does awesome work. He's got major love for Smitty being a Cali guy and he always comes off as extremely well-informed and prepared for all of those interviews. He knows who we are and people should be grateful that he wants our guys on his show to give us that exposure.

You best believe it will be an awesome interview.

Also, as a side note, I wish he still had his piece on Chris Rainey available online, it was hilarious... It had someone screaming "Time to die!" like a million times. Apparently, he took it down though.

Another point of interest, I'm surprised Cam agreed to appear on SVP's show. I've always though SVP was the most sincere of all the current ESPN guys, but he pissed me off with his Cam comments earlier this year and lost some credibility with me. He was almost combative over his stance too, which shocked me.

So for Cam to give him an interview is really surprising to me.

I know. It's just tiresome listening to our lazy media. After a while u can tell some of those folks r tired asking the same made up question.

The guys on the PFT show talked about what Cam needs to do to be an elite QB.

Hines Ward: he needs to mature and grow more

Peter King: he needs more weapons at WR. King would like the Panthers to make a strong run at Mike Wallace

Douchebag Florio: said Cam doesn't have the ability to come back when down in a game like Russell Wilson or Kapernick. Said he can't come back in a game or if the season isn't going well. Obviously didn't get the memo that the Panthers won 5 out of the last 6 games.

Cam is a Professional, and they get paid to do what they do. Cam knows that.

Florio is such a turd, I swear he gets off on trolling the Panthers.

    • I honestly wish Julius Peppers had gotten sick of some of Steve's bullshit and put him on his ass. Because I honestly think that was the one guy Steve wanted no part of.
    • Just worry about it next year.  Its that simple honestly.  its way to early to do what ifs.  I could see us trade/cut chuba and retain dowdle, I could see them let dowdle walk and go with Chuba/Etienne and Brooks, and I could see Dowdle and Chuba both stay and see what happens.  Hell, we still have 6 games left THIS season plus possible post-season...what if Rico or Chuba have an ACL tear or severe injury.  I DO NOT want that to happen, but stuff like that does happen.  Remember RB is the most injury prone position in the NFL due to the beating their bodies take so having some extra guys is never bad, just wish it hadn't come at the cost we paid to get him.
    • I think it’s cool that no one can be really certain what the outcome will be.  That’s a lot of progress! This is a real opportunity for us, I’d be happy with a competitive game and thrilled if we sack up for a W.
