Pat ranks NFC South Kickers

1. Jason Elam, Atlanta. The bottom-line question I asked in making this call was: "Which kicker would you want out there with the game on the line?" That's why I went with Elam.

2. John Kasay, Carolina. I certainly wouldn't mind having Kasay if Elam wasn't available.

3. Matt Bryant, Tampa Bay. Appears the Bucs aren't certain about this guy. But after kicking through a personal tragedy last year, I wouldn't mind having him on my team.

4. Garrett Hartley, New Orleans. Did a good job solidifying a shoddy kicking game when he joined the Saints last year.

5. Mike Nugent, Tampa Bay. Brought in to compete with Bryant. Had shown a big leg before suffering an injury with the Jets.

I hate to admit it, but I almost agree. Kasay has been solid for many years, and he's the original Panther, but he has also fudged some key kicks in the past.

Kasay's been clutch since 1995. You guys need to get over the Super Bowl and learn how to blame the defense/coaching staff for that loss...

He has been clutch for that 99.9% of his life, but you can't deny that we could have possibly won the Super Bowl if that kickoff would not have gone out of bound, and to your other comment of blaming the coaching staff...well there is only so much you can do right when the opposing team knows everything about you (via camera men and spygate).

No, I don't have to admit that at all. What if that kick was in bounds and the returner returned it to the 40? Same difference, it's on the defense to keep them from scoring and they couldn't do it. And the coaching staff going for two instead of kicking an extra point twice dictated a different approach late in the game.

Yeah the going for two was a BS call, but you never know what could have been, if the kick was inbounds.

Yeah I know, it could have been run back for a touchdown. I'm really tired of people blaming Kasay for losing that game. If you, (and by that I don't actually mean you personally CarolinaPanthers8789) can't understand that there were many other factors involved and actually think that the Kasay kick is the sole reason for the loss, then there's nothing more to say...

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
