The panthers have visited only 10 WRs, 1 OG, 2 OTs, 2 DTs during the draft process.

I agree with those who say we are looking at receiver all over the first round as well as later rounds because we would be willing to trade down if we can find a buyer and want to do our due diligence. I really doubt that we will have the opportunity to trade down unless someone very special like Star would fall that far. But why would we pass on him ourselves just to pick up a fourth for example. I just don't think we go receiver at 14. I could see pulling the trigger if we trade down but just don't see which other team would want to do that at this point.

Just curious, but who do you think the Panthers pick at 14, or who they should take? I'm just seeing if it matches up with my line of thinking since we both were on the Kuechly wagon last year.

Still doing my due diligence. I am down to 3 or 4 guys. One problem is the higher the pick the more variables come into play based on who is off the board. In 2011 we had the first pick so we could take anyone. Last year we knew the first 2 picks were Luck and RGIII and a few of the other top 5 picks were very likely like Matt Kalil. So for us picking 8 meant we were pretty sure who would be there. This year is not so clear cut and the talent is far more diffuse throughout the draft instead of clustered at the top.

Understood. I'm still wavering between 4-5. I think I have a front-runner, but like you said, it all depends on who is there at 14. I'm hoping to have a clearer picture in about a week on what teams are likely to do.

I feel like our OL and DL needs more work than they're getting by spending the first two picks on WRs.

Now do a breakdown on our DT's, Cb's, OG, and Safeties on the roster and you can see either of these position could be 1st and 2nd round targets.

Not trying to attack you but I have more faith in the players we have at WR to step up then I do at the other position I listed.

I get what you're trying to point out, and I agree that those positions could use some help. I just don't think that we'll pass over Austin or another WR in the first if we feel they will make an immediate impact and have the stability to be a Panther for a long time...

That said, I'd be all for sliding down a few spots and still being able to snag one of the top WRs and pick up a 3rd rounder in the process to use on another position of need.
