TC camp Question.

Sorry, KKL, this is just another case of the staff knowing more than the fans.  If someone makes the team, I am going to trust that  Rivera, G-man, Proehl, Steve Wilks, Derm and the rest of the coaches know more than me. So, I am not going to get (or have) a bad feeling about anybody, position, or segment of the team.

When many people look at football, they think of it like education: They expect everyone to learn the same things at the same rate, on the same schedule.  This is really not how life works, so in a way people's thinking and expectations are unrealistic, and their way of judging is stunted and anachronistic.

If a player that looked like poo when they first came into the league is showing the necessary growth and development in year two, three or four to become a starter or productively fill a spot when the starter is out (as deemed by the professionals), then who am I really to judge?  And this doesn't even address the financial constraints---the puzzle that has to be taken into account when making such decisions.

When I see a back-up come in, I may have some anxiety (esp. with Naka), but I am not going to have bad feelings until I actually see a proclivity for a player to fug up on a consistent basis.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
