I disagree, humor is acceptable here.

 

Just as long as we're joking about birds soiling our jethro tull t-shirts or any kind of zoom-caliber humor is acceptable here

Not butthurt, but I just like to point out the irony that someone who's been shoehorning the "big uglies" schtick since like 2006 has something to say about which jokes are fresh and which aren't

 

 

Never had a problem with running gags, or with anybody joking in a thread. 

 

Just pointed out - in this particular instance - that it was annoying to people anxious for news after a long offseason and looking in here for a real tweet to find a fake one essentially making the same joke that had been made a dozen times in the past 24 hours.  And obviously, I wasn't the only one who thought that.

 

You can keep whining and griping about it or you can get over it.  Your choice.

 

And heck, nobody says "Big Uglys" anymore.  "Hog Mollys" is the word of the day, which is fine with me.

Here is the thing, that is the nature of comedy in general.  There is no universal taste.  What is annoying to some people is still funny to others.

 

Some people think Jim Carrey is annoying others think he is hilarious.  Some think Adam Sandler is annoying other think he is brilliant.  Some people thought George Carlin was the smartest comedian in history other thought he was a jerk.  Some people even thought Richard Pryor was annoying (uptight white people).

 

Point being becoming the arbiter of what is funny or annoying is annoying in itself.  To me if you think it is funny you read the post and chuckle, if you think it is annoying you just move on to the next post.

      New season new teams. Everyone we face has improved their team as well. There's now a full season of tape on Canales's offense and Bryce running it. When they win 7 games I will become a believer.

      I mean I think its a bit disingenuous to call basically anyone here a casual fan. I don't think the casual fan creates a profile then logs into it, in the offseason, to comments on mundane offseason topics.. I dont think anyone on here would be considered a casual fan. That said, I get your point. My POV is from the player. They sign this contract, move their family because of these contracts. When Clowney came him, we basically had a coming home party for him.  So yeah, I get why we did it and I know that ultimately the owner doesnt 'save' money, but I can feel for the human side of the player, which is why I want them to get all they can while they can.

      My guess is the NBA will either send Flagg back “home” to the Northeast in Brooklyn or Washington, or San Antonio so that they can keep building around Wemby. If I was a betting man I would take the odds on the Spurs. This definitely feels like a #1 pick that they will rig.
