DeAngelo Williams Calls Out Person

Recommended Posts

Not trying to be an ass, but if only that we're true...

There are multiple people that tweet Panthers info (Jones, Reed, Sorenson, Voth, Gantt, Strickland, Henson, Dator, Zod, etc...).

At some point Jones needs to be handed the job. He is much more polite and insightful to the players and doesn't seem to spin things to try and get a nice story.

I actually like Joe as a person, he answers questions promptly and is really nice considering the nasty tweets he receives. However, he eventually needs to start being truthful in his work or find a new job.

No one likes a yellow journalist.

Haven't really had any direct experience with him, so I couldn't say whether he's a nice person or not.

What I do feel like I can say, from the time I've spent reading his work, is that he needs to do a better job as a beat writer.

And I would agree that of the two, Jones is better. To be honest, there are times when I wonder if Person really wants to cover the Panthers.

Who knows? Maybe he doesn't like his job.

    • I think the qualification has changed over time though. A deep ball play used to take 4 to 6 seconds for the receiver to get to that spot on the field. Now a receiver can be there in 2.5. That's less time than most QBs have to set and throw. In my mind a deep route takes time to develop. A crossing route and a deep route can't take the same amount of time at full speed. You can have 4 deep balls on the same drive,  almost 5 if you do 5 20 yard throws goal line to goal line. That doesn't even make sense when you say it out loud.
    • The sad part is it looks manicured enough that he's aware it's running away from him.  Also, I just wanted to give you some fun loving grief on King Haynes today having a chance to throw a game winning TD, and was wildly errant, and ultimately picked off to end the game.  So happy I won't have to hear anything else about The Golden Calf of Bristol lite ever again watching college football.
    • I just think Panthers believe in Bryce far more than the fans do and he is most likely going to be the QB at least the next two seasons. the real shot of us moving from Bryce is not getting an extension, till then they are going to give him every chance to succeed and I just want to win.
