Ron Rivera's Training Camp MVP: Armanti Edwards

Recommended Posts

Unless Armanti is now our number 2 receiver, I don't see what all the hype is about. I hear he's impressing in camp, that's great. However, we are talking about practice man. Practice! Now, we got a game coming up. Armanti better put up good numbers to back up the attemtion.

That sounds like a statement from someone who has never played a sport.

When Allen Iverson made that statement he was a veteran point guard with Philadelphia, not a 4th year receiver who is still learning the position he is playing.

You only get better through practice, and while AE needs to prove himself in actual competition; don't you think it's better that he actually looks good in practice rather than like a second round bust?

What team picks up AE if he gets cut by us?  You people are living in La-la land.

AE is the tallest midget, congratulations.

Nice guy, has a problem with lawnmowers, whatever.

If he went to Azusa Pacific, none, and I mean NONE of you would be defending this player.

UNLESS HE SHOWS HIS ASS ALL PRESEASON, HE IS WHO WE THOUGHT HE WAS.

Let's talk in September.

When/if he proves me wrong I will eat something.  My choice, not yours.

It doesn't matter where he went to school and it doesn't matter what his name is... the fact is that he has shown up in camp and earned high praises from everyone in the organization...

People continue to right that off and that's fine and dandy, but why in God's name are people not at least hoping the guy succeeds. Hell, people even pull for David Gettis even though he has looked awful in camp.

Every year all of you b*tch about our receiving corp... Now Edwards has a chance to make it better and all everyone can say is "wait until preseason when he disappears."

Literally this is what the huddle sounds like...

- "I wish we would finally get good receivers or someone on the roster would step up"

*Armanti Edwards has a fantastic training camp.

- "I guarantee you he won't do it during actual games."

People on the huddle are more worried about getting to say I told you so in an argument then actually thinking about what it would mean to the team if Armanti and the rest of the guys (Ginn, Hixon, etc.) step up.

Can't wait for the day some of you clowns have to admit you were wrong about Edwards.

lol you registered to post this

the downside to armanti breaking out will be the influx of app state alumni who've been waiting for years to nut all over messages boards about the GOAT

I HOPE world peace will be achieved. It however, wont. Such is true of AE. At best, AE is a 30 catch, 250 yard, 2 TD a year WR. Excuse me for not fapping to that. If he was John Doe from any college outside of NC, nobody on this fourm would give two shits about him,.nevermind defend him and his practice.squad talent.

What an ignorant post.

First I would like to preface by saying that I can't stand App State because I work for a fellow FCS football team.

Secondly, how on earth do you know AE can't become a decent WR3? Are you a fortune teller or something?

Why would you not defend him? He is on the Carolina Panthers... Are you a Panthers fan or just a Cam fan?

FWIW I am not from the Carolinas and until we drafted him I had no clue who Armanti Edwards was as I watch very little college ball, especially outside the PAC-12. So I've always thought a D2 QB-to-WR project was an EXTREME reach for what was given up and for where he was picked. I've also been skeptical about any breakout season because when I've heard good things, he's eventually poo the bed. But this year feels different because everyone...Smitty, Olsen, Rivera, everyone has said nothing but great things. So I'm guardedly optimistic and hopeful. So from someone completely unbiased from a local college standpoint, I hope he can tear poo up.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
