Soccer '13-'14 season

Arsenal was literally the only team I did not want to play.  Between this and having Germany and the USA both in the group of death I think it is easy to say that the draws have not been too kind to me this month.  Oh well, I imagine after what almost happened last season at least complacency will not be an issue.

Great news for the club and Liverpool fans. Was expecting him to get poached during the Summer, but this will probably prevent that. Wish RM would have gone in on him when they had the chance....

Just remember, Bale had just signed a new deal too when he was poached.... food for thought.

Suarez wanted out so bad but Liverpool shut the door. His contract had no release clause and Liverpool owner said he rather see him rot in reserves than see him leave. Suarez inked the new deal with release clause this time... With so many sugar daddy clubs, someone will trigger his release clause this summer. Suarez did not ink new deal cause he wants to stay, he inked new deal cause he wants out.

I think Suarez is quite pleased with his predicament right now. In the best form of any player at the moment. Arsen is feeling the heat right now. Keep believing that Suarez is unhappy battling for the title.

Lol if you think Suarez is happy in Liverpool. He had no other choice and signing a new deal is best for the both parties. Now Suarez gotta play his ass off to be wanted by sugar daddy club. Liverpool been playing some great soccer against shitty competition, real test will come in a week when Liverpool will play Chelsea and Man City then we will see how good Liverpool is. Even if Liverpool gets out with a draw in both matches, they will be winners in my book. If Liverpool fails to make CL, you can expect Suarez to start whining again. That's just his nature.

Don't bother with him. Arsenal is way too busy exposing City during their 6-3 drubbing.

Looks like Liverpool is about to take a loan for £150m to upgrade Anfield in the next 1-2 years. That's £15m in annual interest. John Henry prefers to payoff this loan fast and with cash. I definitely see Liverpool selling some players to pay down the principle on the loan or they won't have much wiggle room in transfer market for years to come. Liverpool need to make CL to get extra money or they will be forced to unload some players.

    • It's not impossible to go from worst to first.  We kept Evero because anyone in there right mind knew our defense was destroyed by injuries, not the scheme.  Evero has been given a plethora of talent between free agency and the draft, not to mention getting DB back. I fully expect our defense to be very good.  I have no reason to think Jones would say something like that unless he truly felt like that.
    • We would’ve played Florida and lost in the 1st instead of the 3rd round.  Montreal would have been the 8 seed.
    • I can't get behind a purely subjective re-draft as a method of defining "top-10 QB" status. That invites bias based on vibes/hypotheticals and can ignore actual on-field performance. You and others have said that Bryce has to be a top-10 QB to justify the pick. That's a high bar, which I'm not against, but we need a clear, consistent way to measure it. When I bring up metrics that Bryce has registered in the top-10 in like BTT%, P2S ratio, catchable deep ball rate, etc... they're waved off as either irrelevant or the expected baseline performance. Meanwhile, volume stats like passing yards or win-loss records, both of which depend heavily on roster talent, health, and coaching, are treated as definitive. That's where the inconsistency kicks in. If no performance metric ever counts in his favor and the answer is always going to be "he should be doing that," then we're not evaluating him... we're just holding him to a curve he can't win against. If this is really about performance standards, then let's define them. But if it's just about confirming prior takes based on height and weight, then let's call it what is it and stop pretending that this is a football analysis discussion.
