Soccer '13-'14 season

Lol if you think Suarez is happy in Liverpool. He had no other choice and signing a new deal is best for the both parties. Now Suarez gotta play his ass off to be wanted by sugar daddy club. Liverpool been playing some great soccer against shitty competition, real test will come in a week when Liverpool will play Chelsea and Man City then we will see how good Liverpool is. Even if Liverpool gets out with a draw in both matches, they will be winners in my book. If Liverpool fails to make CL, you can expect Suarez to start whining again. That's just his nature.

Worry about your team vs Chelsea. Suarez is the leader of a team atop the BPL. I'm sure he's not infuriated about it. Plus no BPL player has ever played as well as he has before Christmas. And he missed the first 6 games. Yeah I'm sure he goes home and whines to his wife about the situation he's in.

Arsenal always loses to Chelsea so I'm not worried.  Liverpool had a pretty good run but they also had pretty easy schedule.  Liverpool only beat 3 teams in top 10 of EPL table.  Stoke #10, Manchester United #7 and Spurs #8.  Liverpool was also fortunate to get Manchester United and Spurs at the right time.  Liverpool plays Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton in next 8 weeks and Liverpool last 5 weeks of the season is a total bitch.  Suarez had a glory scoring against shitty competition but he did pretty bad against good teams.  His goals will even out as the season progresses.  I'd wait until May before you crown your team.

I'm aware of the schedule and I'm aware we dropped points to some good teams, however, with the talent that we have on the team I think we are finally beating the teams we are supposed to. Can't do anything about the schedule now can we other than beat the teams in front of them.  Everyone has a tough schedule coming up, It's before Christmas.  I'm only hoping for a top 4 spot, which I think is obtainable.  I am only replying that Suarez is probably not upset about how the season is going.

CL = Happy Suarez. Suarez goal is to play for Real Madrid. Suarez is 27 in one month so his clock is ticking. Maybe he changed his mind, I don't know but reports coming out that Madrid already called to check his buyout clause plus Madrid and Suarez agent been staying in touch. It's either shitty reports or they really after him. Madrid will unload Benzema and DiMaria this offseason and that's should be enough to trigger Suarez release clause which is similar to Bale's I believe. Who knows what's going on in Suarez mind. I prefer for him to stay in EPL, I like the dude.

We'll see if they can keep this up though. I'm looking forward to the next big time match up, to see how well Sherman looks as a manager. If we come out and play sloppy like ManC and Liverpool, then he's done as a full-time replacement. If we come out and play sharp football, he's setting himself up as the number one candidate, win or lose. The reason AVB lost his job was not because we lost, but how we lost and looked horrendous doing it.

AVB tried to install Spanish like passing game but he did not had the right talent for it. He used 1-3-2-4 formation but should of used 2-4-4. Soldado looked like a true self with more support around him.

Suarez contract does include a UCL release and a straight up buyout believed to be at or near the world record. If LFC struggle the rest of the campaign, he will walk. We'll get a decent chunk, but he'd be tough to replace.

Suarez will probably be worth about Bale $$$.  Liverpool will be able to replacement him with another young talent.  Look at Torres situation...  It's actually good to sale him before he's 28 because after that he's value goes down.

I just hope we are prepared for his departure if/when the time comes. I'd rather it be a summer sale than January. More time to come up with a replacement and not have to splash £35m on an ostrich named Andy Carroll.

    • It's not impossible to go from worst to first.  We kept Evero because anyone in there right mind knew our defense was destroyed by injuries, not the scheme.  Evero has been given a plethora of talent between free agency and the draft, not to mention getting DB back. I fully expect our defense to be very good.  I have no reason to think Jones would say something like that unless he truly felt like that.
    • We would’ve played Florida and lost in the 1st instead of the 3rd round.  Montreal would have been the 8 seed.
    • I can't get behind a purely subjective re-draft as a method of defining "top-10 QB" status. That invites bias based on vibes/hypotheticals and can ignore actual on-field performance. You and others have said that Bryce has to be a top-10 QB to justify the pick. That's a high bar, which I'm not against, but we need a clear, consistent way to measure it. When I bring up metrics that Bryce has registered in the top-10 in like BTT%, P2S ratio, catchable deep ball rate, etc... they're waved off as either irrelevant or the expected baseline performance. Meanwhile, volume stats like passing yards or win-loss records, both of which depend heavily on roster talent, health, and coaching, are treated as definitive. That's where the inconsistency kicks in. If no performance metric ever counts in his favor and the answer is always going to be "he should be doing that," then we're not evaluating him... we're just holding him to a curve he can't win against. If this is really about performance standards, then let's define them. But if it's just about confirming prior takes based on height and weight, then let's call it what is it and stop pretending that this is a football analysis discussion.
