What's the difference in Panthers QB accuracy vs Cleveland's QB's

I never did like Chud's offense because it seemed high risk high reward. When Chud's left I figured Cam's accuracy would go up, instead Weeden's shot thru the roof, he is 18-21 for 229 yards and 3 td's this preseason. Campbell was 14-19 for 143 yards in the last 2 games. I'm not sure we have a qb with over 50% accuracy during this preseason.

Can anybody explain the difference?

I know these are preseason numbers but I'm seeing lots of qb's finishing games with 1 or 2 incompletions. Hell Dennis Dixon was 3/3 in our game and 7/13 in the patriots game.

but you already said you understood its preaseason. Youre also comparing too small a data set too early in the year. Chico is meddling with the roster in game. Preseason is for evaluating individual talent.

 

haha, what?  chico can still evaluate while cam is throwing balls on target.  instead, he fades away and smiles when the ball crashes to the ground or sails over the epicenter.  his accuracy has jack poo to do with individual evaluation.

I agree his accuracy was off and he made some bad decisions, but why are we talking about this in week2 of preseason?

We're talking about this because Cam is in his 3rd yr as a pro and through training camp and preseason so far Cam's throwing is poo. Meanwhile I'm watching highlights of guys like Brees and Brady carve up offenses with a surgical knife. That's why.

 

Yes, we should compare Cam to 10 year vets. What's Paytons stats while we are at it.

because it's our franchise quarterback.  all eyes should be on him; fua to a lesser extent.  3 years in the league shouldn't guarantee you a spot, nor should it prohibit coaching scrutiny.

 

i just think the OP makes a valid point, is all.

 

 

So what you're saying is that due to his preseason passing accuracy in meaningless games, cam's spot shouldn't be guaranteed? Really? Are you serious?

Shrug I hear ya buuuuuuut its preseason.

 

No look I think the problem is this, Cam has got new targets and I think he is being urged to look for them more than Smitty. I think you can do things like that in preseason, feel things out, but when it comes to week1 theres not going to be any of that. He's going to go straight to who he trusts instinctively. He has to build those instincts somewhere. There's gonna be timing mishaps and errors while he's learning to play with other guys. . . and he's not Drew Brees, he's Cam Newton.

      I've seen enough tape review to see that we run crossers...we have dudes in the middle of the field. I have to think that this is a harder area for someone of Bryce's stature to hit. You have to see directly over the center of the line and is probably where the most interceptions happen (he has thrown a LOT of his picks by not seeing a dude in the middle of the field).

      While I don't think NFL games are fully rigged, it's certainly closer to a scripted outcome than we all think. The NFL by their own admission in court is not a fair and balanced sporting event. It is a managed entertainment product, a "spectacle" as they've put it, that now has sports betting as a huge financial pillar of their business model. It's ridicuously naive to still think the NFL isn't using referees to manage the games towards certain outcomes, using "replays in the booth" and overturning calls, choosing to overlook penalties at critical moments and calling questionable and sometimes phantom game changing penalties at other critical junctures of games. The NFL has always done this going as far back as the '60s, and they were investigated by the FBI in the '70s which found a large number of ownership groups had ties to the mob. So when the overwhelming majority of the moneyline bets were on the Panthers vs the Saints last week, and suddenly we see some strange and ticky tack penalties we've rarely seen called on the Panthers all year, I just know there's more going on behind the scenes. And suddenly next week, the Panthers will probably be nudged to a win, to keep the NFC South race interesting, as I see the Bucs are the favorite as of now and most moneyline bets will trend towards the Bucs until during the game when the Bucs are leading heading into the 4th quarter, and the Panthers are nudged to a win. At least, that's what the NFL and Vegas probably want to happen.
