Ginn

Hixon has always played well when he can stay on the field. Just like this year he would get hurt and slip down the roster.

i'm just saying i haven't watched enough film on him to know if he makes those ballsy catches over the middle with consistency.  lafell has done it, just not as consistently as i'd like.   but then again, none of our receivers have been consistent lately.   too many easy drops are killing our offense just as much as our weak Oline

Yea he will will go out and make those tough catches. Again his biggest problem has been staying on the field. If he would have stayed healthy I think he could be a number 2 wr in the NFL.

It's nice that Ginn has had a stellar preseason but I'm positive Dolphin and 49er fans assumed "this is the year Ted has a breakout season". It never transpired however. As soon as the regular season starts, Ginn tends to run crappy routes and drop easy and/or crucial passes. I know, I know, I'm being a negative nancy here but all I am suggesting for us [panther fans] is to slow down and play the wait-n-see game. The fact is every time Cam will heave a deep throw to Ginn this season, I'll take a deep breath, cover my eyes and pray to the Football deities.

This thread wasnt claiming Ginn would breakout....I think he will do 2 things. Return kicks and be brought in just like Murphy was last year. That is a small role I think he will have.....

Unlike in Miami and SF..... He will have a big armed QB who looks and loves the deep ball. The deep ball is the one thing Ginn does.

Teams will need to account for his speed even if he is not targeted. I think he will be tested early so let hope he can take a couple to the house. The guy is fast

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
