Last night gave me hope for our offensive line and WR corps

I personally think Ginn has locked up WR #3, and not just because of last night. I think he has looked pretty good all preseason. He could very well go down as the best pickup of the off season of any team. Maybe he realizes this may be his last chance and doesn't want to be remembered as a complete bust. But I still hope AE and Gettis at least get a chance to show what they have. Unlike some others on here, I feel comfortable with our WR positions, but we'll see.

He isn't though. Round 1 already went to Sherman. I think the key will be finding Olsen and another WR to make plays for us week 1. Just let Smith keep Sherman away from the action

In the grand scheme of things, that could be good.  A game were Cam has to look at other WRs to start the season.

This isn't the point but Sherman will be a nobody in a year or two. There's always a big corner who emerges every few years and then just quietly goes away. Revis, Samuel, asomugha and there's more u can name. Especially in today's game. It's pretty hard to be a corner in today's game. Bc no matter how good u are u are gonna get beat plenty. But yeah Sherman ain't nothing. Smitty got this

I'm sure this has been discussed before but who exactly has Ginn had to throw him the ball? Alex Smith is probably the best QB he's had and he can't throw it far enough to connect with Ginns speed. (Ginn was already buried in the depth chart before Kaep came on)

    • I think DJ will always catch some heat because he will never be an elite WR, despite having elite attributes. I remember that when he was here. We all saw Steve Smith play for years, so we know what a truly elite WR looks like. DJ was never that. Now, is he a very, very good WR? Yes. Is he one of the best 15-20 WR's in the NFL year in and year out? I would say yes, as well. But he will always get some doubters because he is the tier below the truly elite WR's. I do agree, though. Would love to still have it. Would love to have reversed that trade immediately. Especially with the benefit of hindsight the way we have now. It's way more painful from that view.
    • No, he never threw 8 tds in a game.  I feel like we're splitting hairs and are describing the exact same situation, but you're looking through the lens of recency bias.  Either way, the original point remains the same.  CJ Stroud is still far better than Bryce Young.
    • You mean the 4 INT game in 2004? That's cool but he threw 8 TD's in the game prior. Also, I definitely never saw him looking like Stroud did. Anyone who watched those two games knows how incredibly lucky Stroud was to have only 8 TO's. I never saw Peyton Manning in a single game just panic and throw up prayers to no one. Not a couple of times but repeatedly. That was basically a worse version of Sam Darnold seeing ghosts.
