Ranking the Young QB's According to ESPN

Yeah.

And that's with a coach that normally handicaps him during the second half of games (stealing 1-3 TD's from Newton), cause he's too scared to pile onto leads (no matter how small, or early in games), and would rather hold onto them.

Hopefully, the disaster in Buffalo (and a good tongue lashing from Gettleman) has finally showed "Scared Straight" Ron Ron the light!

Cam should/could have had a extra TD to extend the Panthers lead (and seal the win last week), if Rivera had even tried to score a TD, instead of just running the clock out, trying to hold on to a 3-6 pt win. SMH

I hear ya on all the above.  Did you notice the hurry up offense, then bomb to Ginn for that last TD?  I thought that was borderline rubbing it in today.  Definitely piling it on.    Maybe we are seeing the maturation and turning point for Rivera as a HC.  Who knows, and time will tell.

Good win today.

No, I'm just saying personally I like Luck better as a talent then Newton. I like Wilson almost as well as Newton, but not as well. I think Newton is more talented and will have a better career then Kaepernick and especially RG3

U think Luck is a better talent, in what way?

IMO, Luck is simply another media chosen white QB who we're to believe is the best since slice bread based on nothing more than him being less criticized by those who chose him. REALLY?!

Let's be real, not even Russel, Colin, nor RG III are placed in the same realm as Luck, as much as they are praised by the sports media folks. Luck has always been set apart from the other QBs as if he's some golden boy. Why is that? And unlike Cam, Luck has NEVER received any ridicule what so ever. It's so clear yet some are afraid to say it but I will because it's so darn obvious.

Luck didn't even throw for 200 yards today and had no passing TDs.

And yet the game wasn't even really that close.

Amazing how TEAMS can make the QB look good.  (And this isn't to imply that Luck is a bad QB... far from it.)

Oh... and I wonder how long it will be before the 49ers start really, really missing Alex Smith?

Check out 49ers forum, they already are lol.

Yeah, I liked the Bomb to Ginn.

I thought, on a couple of those last third down sequences during the 4th Qtr, Rivera could have went to the end zone (especially after those run plays), and got Cam his 4th TD.

I guess some people would/could have called that "piling it on", if it happened. Lol

I especially like how there has been no mention of the "sophmore slump" I guess 2nd year QBs not named Cam Newton are immune to it.

Kaepernick is so bad its funny. I live in the bay area and 9er fans think he's the poo. He has no pocket presence and he telegraphs his throws. His throwing motion so slow. It's not as bad as The Golden Calf of Bristol's motion but better than Byron Leftwich. The only reason he had success last year was because the 49ers offense was so physical that teams had to commit to the run leaving Kaep to make easy 1 reciever reads to wide open receivers.

Yeah, the only one looking good so far I'll say is Luck because he is the only one who is playing on a not so solid team. Now that the teams around RG3 and Kaep are looking average, we are starting to see who they really are. I doubt Wilson can be that solid on a bad team.

Luck threw for only 164 yards today. Not much can be determined from that. I've said this before and I'll keep saying it, I see Matt Schaub in him. The TEAM won. They have a very good team. loaded at WRs and RBs, what more does he want?

Luck is gonna be special, honestly.

RG3 & Kap are garbage.

Wilson will be decent, nothing spectacular. Seattle would make any QB look good.

Cam is, well, Superman.

When? tomorrow? Lol

A lot of Luck fans in this forum. Yet anti everyone else. funny!

Second game he barely throws for 170. The game he throws for more than that he attempted 43 passes but complete under 60%. I'm seeing a pattern here.

They can only keep this up for so long. They just can't help it. It's already apparent that the team is protecting him through play calling. They're not putting the ball in his hand even with all the WRs they have. The team already know about Luck's deficiency. In 2 more years he will be recognized as just a Matt Schaub or Alex Smith type. This charade can only last for so long. Give it time.

    • It is all confusing and layered. SB is the cash you get very soon within weeks or in simple terms, its what you get to sign the paper work. Players and agents can agree on contract but what to "wait" to sign......teams don't like that cause you can "Carlos Boozer" yourself. In order to get that ink dry, while keeping the contract the same, portion it as a bonus to "sign" and get the funds with ________ .   * But Ive seen worded contracts that split the SB or a 20% to a later date. The beans counters can fill in the details about why certain dates are better and save the team money.. Theres tricks to the trade and accounting is full of them.    Ugh another big layer, is SB can be used to manipulate cap and players. Ill try to give a example that makes enough sense. Believe it or not having a owner like Tepper is a cheat code for this. He has cash in hand, where as Mark Davis had problem making pay roll and had to move the team to Vegas....... Tepper can give you 100,000,000 SB right now and the team can spread out the cap hit. Another owner doesn't have or want to give the player 100,000,000 in cash, but offered the same guaranteed contract in roster bonuses fully guaranteed over the next few years........ Which one do you want??? Everyone wants the money now, not before another inflation waves hits in 2 years. So it does 'pay" to have a owner like tepper that's able to have real cash on hand, while it also works GREAT for cap help. Heres a good video, if you can stand coked up pat and mask look-a-like AJ
    • I don't know. CMC is like others and may have lip serviced that line of " I had no plan or wanted to leave Carolina" I think he even said he bought a house too and wanted this to be home.   Here's what I heard- In a way Panthers org gave him a test and he didn't "fight" back. They approached CMC and told him they wanted to put him on IR since the "season" was over or out of playoff reach. CMC didn't fight it one lick and agreed. They secretly wanted him to kept playing or want to, but there was no kickback. I honestly don't know if its real or not, 5th hand information type deal doing on. Yes he had bruises and pains, but was able to play...... but went along with Panthers staff. Odd to be playing games with star players, but whatever....   Plus the staff doctors found out about his tendinitis and there was nothing to fix it. Even with him missing time, it was the best move to trade him before he got inflamed constantly.    Lastly, its mostly time a combo of stuff, Fitterererere did not sign him to be the highest paid RB. That was classic Marty "give me a" herniay doing. GMs have different values on roster spots and rumor was Fitterererer was one that didn't want to pay RBs. For all his faults, he's right about that......
